I watched a lot of Browards come out of Dennisons back then. I was one of the kids eating free chicken and coke from Copeland in the pits up on the hill. Those were the haydays of offshore from what I have seen so far. It was the next year that Ericson's ran the first 24 if remember correctly.

The value of that land has gone up just a little since then: http://www.detroitnews.com/story/new...tery/84430014/

Frank & Ken Denison, family/business friends, "slowly" lifted the boat out with his megayacht TraveLift, while it drained, put in on the trailer, and took it to the Merc Race Truck in the pits. Craig & I started & ran each EFI for about an hour each to dry out & oil all the internals. Without ever touching those engines again, they went on to run all the remaining races of that season, without a glitch. Al Copeland backed up two tractor trailers in the pits, opened the back doors, and had full scale Popeye's kitchens in each of them. One trailer handed out as many bisquits as you wanted, the other all the chicken that you wanted...all free. Fun times.
Great story! And thats what lifes all about!

Kevin, was the shot of Mr. Kiser's one of yours as well? I found it on another site but it did not have your name at the bottom.

It is, I sent it to Erik unedited so he could do what he wanted with it.

...Yup. It was a big affair. The neighbors sued him because of the enormous amount of traffic, noise, etc., to shut it down. The house(mansion) was torn down in 2010, after he died, by the family(Al Jr.)...
