    Thanks for looking... Its really driving me nuts.

    Starting to wonder if it isnt for a mercury and that's the problem but wouldn't I have issues with the splines then? It slides on perfectly so with the right washer it should work fine.

    I will try a local prop shop today and just see what they say.

    The two circled ones look right are they the same? If you can look at the image I posted it is going on a 2.5l merc and is an old trophy prop

    Sorry I just got down to the shop. 12-835467-1 is the proper thrust washer which is what it looks like you have. It does not sit down in the prop against the hub. Just on the flange.

    Ok so vnemous just to make sure I understand your saying its ok that the washer does not sit inside the recessed portion of the prop and rests on the outside of it?Click image for larger version.

    That's correct ,just install a standard merc washer. A step washer is not used . hf...
