Crushing is exciting to say the least. Like playing whack-a-mole on the front of a bouncing truck.

Had customer drive down to Texas from Green Bay Wi. To observe his modified 260 being built and ran , stayed with us in our apt, quizzed him about going hunting he said sure I knew he was tired , we eased down to the lease and there were 20 ish BIG hogs there about 9:00 pm , I let him sit in shooting area but he couldn’t get the scope where he could take a shot , we eased out , built the motor Sat. Had it built and running by 2:00 , ate lunch changed gun out to bolt gun with more conventional Swarovski optic , eased down to bait the big ones in and there were 10-15 small pigs there , he busted one with the 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger , loved the gun and the optic more I told him well I guess you did like the optic $3000.00 he had a great time and I enjoyed his visit ....

Grandson came down to hog hunt from Ark yesterday , sitting in stand nothing happening but 1 over weight raccoon he left ( got full ) then a big pretty black squirrel came out for supper we both commented how pretty and big , grandson is the normal I phone watcher while I’m peaking around stand window when all of a sudden one of the biggest Tom Bobcat running at full speed across the pipeline lane and smoked the black squirrel and was gone , I saw the whole assault he saw the word game on the phone ??? I said did you see that event ? Nope , he did shot a hog later in the evening . These people need to put their phones down and look at the world they are missing allot !!!!

I spent a few winters in Corpus. Earliest I got there was Nov. 1 and latest I left was mid April. I tell you, I do not know how you guys deal with that heat and humidity. I have been in Phoenix in August with high temps of 115 and that was not that bad. Would rather have that then 85 and high humidity. 95+ with 90+ humidity? Do you even leave the house besides to go to the shop or grocery store?

Jay, hogs showed up in the marsh at the property we hunt ducks at. We started with shotguns and they worked good. I went got a 444 lever action with open sights. Perfect for sneaking around the corner in a pirogue and cutting loose on em. That 444 lays em down quick! Weve estimated in 5yrs theres been close to 80 killed. There only on one island in the marsh with major waterways on all 4 sides. Not a big piece of property either! Fun as hell though and gives the kids some great times! Happy hunting buddy!

The main reason there isn't a big market for wild pork, turkey, rabbit, etc. is because the farm raised ones are more tender and usually taste better.Last edited by CDave; 07-13-2019 at 01:58 AM.

The sows are usually good to eat (especially the smaller ones). The boars (especially the big ones) are usually garbage! I'm not ashamed to say I leave them where they lay!!!

I shoot them at feeders so they must be removed , I hunt pipeline right aways feeder 125 yards from stand but can get as long as 400 yard shots ( hardly ever ) I have an adjacent electrical right away close to mine , I have a special made chain with snaps on the ends I lay the chain at hogs front legs and with gloves on I roll the pig with chain now under it and the snap exposed I snap chain under its Chest area make a half hitch and connect the other snap to truck and away we go to dump area , my buzzards are always waiting for their next meal, they can make a 200 lb hog disappear in 36 hours !! Nothing left but the squeal
