Nicknamed the "straight-in front" type intake. Second most powerful version of the triple

    Nja Mark75H,

The FT-19s did not use the strait-in front. The lower carburetor was to low for the important shift rod for the stock gearcase.
See arrow first picture..shift rod holder is the cast for the FT-19s.
The strait-in front was only used for the OE class without a shift rod and you must use o different lower cowling with a box welded on under for the lower carb.
    See second picture.
The next two picture is the strait-in front for the OE engine without shift rod holder. Same front was also used for the OE 31 engine.
Most strait-in powerhead also used the better pressed in sleeves.

This is the OE/F3 31 engine above.

PS you can see the shift level on the right side of the mid section.

More from Dalalven, Sweden 1973. Here is also my #99 SE Clerici/Evinrude 65 SS. It was a world record weekend very late that year. I did break the 1 and 2 hour UIM world record in the SE class.

Cougar, N.E. 188th Street, N. Miami Beach, produced a 27' version like that. Tony Roberts. Cougar England made them as well.

Here you can see better the OE/F3 engine with real strait-in front. The red arrow show the welded in box in the standard lower aluminum cowling to make room for the bottom carburetor. Picture #4.

I also think the M-80 Offshore cat is a Cougar. Its under Norweigen flag and if I remember right Cougar, England did also build them.

"The Thundercan"..was designed and build exclusively for Bjorn Borg in the mid eighties. One off and most molds was destroyed after the boat was ready. The boat was not a success and not fast enough.. but could be worth money today if you find it.

Thanks Fuji and Lars. I thought that was a smaller Cougar. I just wanted a confirmation from the experts.

Any idea what one of those Offshore V-8s weighed?
