Allison made 3 or 4 XR2002s a few years ago. It is a different boat then the XR2001. The XR2001 is either a single seater or tandem.

They made 5 Xr2002 4 in 2016 1 in 2017

Chatted with him twice. Once at Jasper, once at the factory for him to bless the transom on the BR that I was trading to a guy from somewhere down there for an XB2003. If you remember, RP put those goofy cables/ turnbuckles from the transom yo the back wall brace. He's a pretty cut and dry fella. Was more concerned with why RP took the lip off than anything else. He rolled his eyes when I told him who did it, them offered to blueprint the bottom. In the shop, all they were doing was repairing the XB21's, not any of the old models anywhere in any stage of production In Jasper, J got a pretty good chuckle when I noticed Darris was wearing a calculator watch, and I mentioned that made my boat feel a little less cool

Maybe it's been said here somewhere, but what year was the last XB2002 made?

We had 8 slots for the XR2001 Drag and River Racer. They filled up almost overnight. I have convinced them to build an additional 8 boats. We are only building the XR2001 DR and RR. The other 20’ boats will not be built due to lack of an appropriate engine.

My guess from my interactions with Darris is that the XR01 will 99% be used by racers, that will 99% be a 2.5, or 3L on a cutdown mid. The other boars will mostly be used as lake boats for pleasure use, and that would lend itself to putting the newer stuff on, which in his mind is dangerous. He wasn't a fan of guys putting 3L on the xb2003/ grandsports. Just my .02

Jason’s lime green 2020 XB-2002 was the last one built.


The XR01 is sold as a race boat with no other intention, liability, or warranty implied. The issue with all of the other 20’ers is the fear of them being used as a lake boat with heavy 3L and up engines bolted on. They are not rated for it and the Allison’s are tired of being involved in frivolous lawsuit’s when the boat gets overpowered/wrecked.
