New electric outboard going after a speed record

I’ve been seeing a new electric outboard brand advertised on one of my marine trade news threads.

They are now teaming up with a boat manufacturer to go after an electric record.

Haven’t read much of the details other than the fact they say they’re doing it on a 32 foot boat and they expected to run 100 miles an hour.

The ad for the motors show they’re 180 hp apiece.

So if they’re stock motors theyll will be 500 hp and 60 miles an hour short.
Still cool to see.

Range I read on their site says 70 miles at 20 miles an hour :-)

Interesting, so they are going for mike bontoft's record (98mph). So range 70 miles at 20mph & 5 miles at 100mph ?

I saw Garlets drive the first rendition at the Snowbirds almost a decade ago. I don't think it made it to the stripe under full power ..

Real numbers for a stock nine second Tesla ... mid thirteens ..

Never a shot of the car clearing the traps quicker than in the mid ten's ..

Don't go into the canal @ the end in Palm Beach .. 220dcv and water ..pppffttttt

My favorite is still the “Formula E” series aimed at an electric version of Formula 1 cars.

They run half the race, then pit to change to charged cars.
They finish their race in those!

True story.
