if it is nice, they must have fixed it. when i was a kid, it was for sure, not nice. the fishing was what was nice.

I watch these all the time. My first time thru Haulover was my second time in saltwater. A little intimidating as I rounded the corner and saw giant waves. Stopped, watched a couple boat pass, then hit it. Was pretty fun, but I had a canopy.

Check out at 2:04. Imagine you spent close to $4Mil and couldn't get thru the inlet?

...been in small & large boats thru haulover. going fast, going slow. my first time decades ago, i was in a single 200 merc powered performance type boat at exactly half throttle under the bridge, standing still, not moving an inch.

Is haulover a beast for the entire falling tide? I watch those videos all the time. What makes me laugh is the morons with people in the bow......and the guy with the little Boston whaler who kills it all the time.

How shallow is it at those waves? Or are the waves just from the volume of water coming out of the back waters?

Deep pass with several bars that are shallower outside. An strong onshore wind working against the falling tide is when it stacks up where the waves stay high and stand in place. That is what makes it treacherous. You are moving the waves are not.
