    Something
like your post is what i was hoping my post would bring out. I knew there were more turboed two strokes but was hoping for outboards.
I don`t know how much success Land & Sea had with theirs but maybe somebody else does.

Turbochargers have come a long way since the 1970's... back then I think most of them were adapted off of diesel trucks & tractors; now they have ceramic bearings, water-cooled center sections, and stainless housings; plus electronic fuel injection is a lot easier to adapt and has more safeguards than carburetors.

There's a guy successfully running a turbo'd 3 banger OMC in Pro O/B kneel downs.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Hahaha...I think if BRP slapped a turbo onto a 300hp G2 outboard; the folks working on the Mercury 400R's could all take early retirement!

Lots to read here, so what was agreed on with the transfer/ exhaust blow down and why it won't work? Did the transfers get raised to near exhaust, does the stuffing pulse on the ex side increase with turbo back pressure? 516hp from a triple looks OK.

Well, not bolt-on as in the sense of

Step 1: IMPORTANT - Put your brand new L&S billet heads without water jackets to the side until you have completed steps 2-4
Step 2: Send your old Mercury heads with water jackets to a machine shop who cuts them to the same volume as the L&S heads
Step 3: When your old Mercury heads come back from the machine shop, bolt them to the block. Make sure to use the correct gaskets and to thoroughly clean gasket surfaces
Step 4: Test your engine, check if it is running too lean, and increase main jet sizes if required
Step 5: Repurpose your brand new L&S heads as honing plates, or sell them to the next sucker who has read the catalog

Eric Simon built a turbo'd 2.4 on alcohol for a sand rail years ago. John W tried the turbo, but my guess is that the nitrous hit was quicker/harder than waiting for boost with a turbo in a drag race application. Would be great for a lake boat though.

516hp from a 1 liter motor... yeah, that would be OK!
