I would guess similar to all those on here whining about the demise of the 300 drags etc, Vs those actually ready to write a check.

I had lunch with a couple Merc guy's , middle / end of last year . One said , too many guys like you fixing junk . We built a dozen 280 power heads and it took a year and a half to "get rid of them". I took it as a compliment , and I really saw no need in talking about their price structure vs the disposable income for the average family man.

I assume they will have dyno sheets with a f1 2.5 then with parts swapped over to show the block is better than a stock one?

So some good ol boy's need to pack up and go to Europe or Dubai . Buy a F-1 motor , flog it , strip it and load the gut's in their CRT then flog it again ? Explain to me just exactly what that will show ... ?
And will they also have to do the same with the "econo" steel sleeve model you suggest ... ?
Ya know power , if you want , I can prob hook ya up with some a couple guys from Wisconsin , I think you'd fit right in ...

I think you'll find out in a few weeks that CRT has covered their bases. As far as 2.5 liter race outboards go I can confidently say they've left no stone unturned
