    Silverwing boats......

Who has one that could share some photo's and opinion? Are these being built at all anymore by anyone? I remember seeing them advertised in Hot Boat many years ago, I forget the name of the gentleman, Jim Wilkes comes to mind, thought I read on here sometime back that Mirage had gotten the molds and were making them?

Always liked them, would be a very cool river boat.....

Jim Wilkes was one of the owners in the beginning, the molds were sent to Mirage. Met him years ago when he was with Hot Boat at a Cougar reunion. Super nice guy. He does a V-Drive section at Performance Boat Forum, you could try and PM him there.

Mike Mullins is ready to build the second one. The first one he built he ran a 300XS on and it went something like 118 but thought there was more there, re-rigged it with 2 S3000's and says it runs just under 150. 120 in somethink like 800 ft.

I like them with the twin power as well, thought some old school T-3 cowls would look sweet.

I was out at Mike's 3 weeks ago and he had a new one with hull and deck mated I need to go by and see how it is coming, I believe he said it was going to California. Cool looking boat with lots of interior room.

I am 100% clamp-on but I gotta agree. Seen one years ago and never forgot it. Awesome looks and it is so cool to see it alive and well.

I would have Mike build me one of these if I could race it. Put a Jones' capsule in it like the one we have in the K boat, and a new school, ultra lightweight all aluminum twin turbo LS deal with an old SSMV drive (because they're lighter and smaller than all the newer SM drives). It would be one bad mutha' f****r! Problem is, there's no class to race it in, and none of the other circle race classes would let you run with them (I know, I've asked)...........

A good friend of mine has the last Silverwing ET ever built w/ a #III drive - I've come close to buying it and putting an engine in it, but I know I wouldn't be able to run it anywhere. I would just be wasting money......
