Went to the Mount Dora Antique Boat Show for 30+ years every year & gave it up soon after it moved to Tavares. Never to be the same again. The hotel recently changed hands as well and is lacking in many ways. I can recommend some very good, lesser known eateries in Mt. Dora though.

OFF 2015 is in the Books!
Had a great time and met some more Greats!
Even had one of my lifelong buddies, Butch Stokes and his wife Treasure attend along with my sister, (a long time friend of Treasure) and her husband attend.
The outboards put on the best show with Rich and Mark running two tunnel boats side by side at pretty fast speeds.
They had a class for only Switzer wings with three running strong in every heat. This is probably the first time l three ran side by side without any
problem in many moons. Rich Luhrs was well over 100 MPH with the other two close behind.
Rodger H, Rich and Dick brought 5 boats. That is a feat in itself! Dick was feeling a little under the weather on Sunday, and I was happy to get a little more Switzer time. It was my first time being side by side on a closed course with two other Switzers and it was intense.
Thanks to Rodger, Rich and Dick for a very great experience. And, thanks to Steve Serios for his efforts in making another OFF

Gene, you were the one everybody kept asking about!
I know at least 3 different people asked me if you were going to attend.
You have to make it next year. If you promise to be there , I will fly my plane over the event.
i meant to do it this year, but got busy with a ton of stuff when I got home from Utah , I completely forgot.

The last ones were very good...this one was special. It just had a casual atmosphere mixed in with some very good Vintage Race Boats. I'm sure I speak for all the OFF people, but we truely missed Jackie and Gene. Off is always ON (right Steve?), so lets do it even better next year.

First time we had been in about three years. Had a great time, much better than expected. Met up with some special old friends. We hadn't seen Charlie's sister in at least 45 years, but missed Gene and Freddie. Gene, Johnny B is three years older than you are, so your excuse is moot. Brownie kept asking Johnny how old he was, one year at a time..Johnny kept saying more..Odell took off before he could hammer him..These guys never seem to age.
Got to see three wings run as well as the Wing Rocket. That was a thrill. Wish I could have stayed longer..
Thanks for a great show old friends..
