Just under 60 MPH, 28 ft and 10' wide boat

I have my current 27 Playcraft running a best of 60.6 with a single 300R, went to a sportmaster 1.75 case, 17" Porta bracket, and run it pretty high. I have run every propeller under the sun to get it there. Single 450 pushes a 27' to 66 mph, twin 450's pushes a 31 to 82 mph--bingo, we have a winner and its being built now.

Mercury Dealerships are now required to get a bigger lift, sorry little cherry picker. And turnkey boat manufactures need larger forklifts too.

...kid, they stopped using that stuff a long time ago, not just now. at the oem level anyways...
In the 1970's, I used the cherry picker on Merc inline 6 outboards, at the dealerships.
For outboards it was an appreciated tool to use.
However, the new Big Outboards seem to weight the same as an 8 cylinder MerCruiser engine.
Forklifts or gantry cranes our now needed for the Big Outboards.

Sorry small dealerships and backyard guys ... you will need to upgrade with bigger equipment to mount the full line of Mercury's Outboard products.

I used to carry my short shaft 50 in the trunk of my car and just throw it on the boat at the race. Motors weighed just about 150#.
