Nice color combo!
This was the Black Duck boat. then owned by John on Long Island.
Anyone with information, advice, technical stuff about this boat, 300xs motors, Progression boats etc. Your comments, thoughts and ideas are most welcome.
She seems to be in good shape. A Merc dealer did a computer test and compression test and everything is good with 188 hours on the motor.
The very short and cold test ride showed 74 gps with 2 people and ca. 35 gallons of gas. There was some speed left I think. The steering and handling is tight. Thoughts on props?
Thanks

If you are ever ready to sell I'm looking for a 24
Hey Eric, What year is the Progression hull? What speeds are you looking for & do you know the weight of the boat?
I had a 24' Superboat w/ a 300X Promax. My boat ran 70 - 73 MPH. What is the powerband (WOT) range, does the motor have a rev limiter?
Thanks, Jimmy.
it's a 2007. did 74 during sea trials with 2 big guys and 35 gallons of fuel with plenty left. Others claim low to mid 80s and I believe it. I am more interested it how it runs at 40 to 60 in a Long Island sound chop where it really excels. I drove a Superboat and found the Progression more rigid, better riding and feeling more stabe and easier to handle for a novcice like me.. Just my opinion based on short drive of both. No tendency to porpoise to chine walk with the setup on my boat.
The motor seems to have a rev limiter. Full Specs for the Merc 300xs are available on line. Check www.progressionboats.com for full boat specs but I think the boat is about 1,200 pounds plus motor and rigging.
Look at my add for a progression 24 for sale. Blew the motor, must sell.

Progressions are simply the highest quality, best built, best riding boats in their class. This highly desirable Low Deck model is a relatively new 2007 boat, not some 30 year old beat up hull.
Read about these boats on the Progression website, http://www.progressionboats.com/
This is a rare opportunity to get a recent Progression below market price.
80 MPH boat in excellent condition.
