No to choppers except the small one for 60 HP
There's a reason they don't make choppers anymore. Much better (new) designs make them pretty much obsolete. Have you considered anything else?
I'm currently running a Turbo1. Tried a Raker re-hubbed for my Yammy but it was slower than the Turbo1. Any suggestions? I have a 1995 Nitro 170TF with a 130hp Yamaha and a CMC jackplate with 5-1/2" setback.
Tempest+ or ProMax?
The 14-1/2" diameter ProMax will not turn on my Yamaha 130hp.
I think I have a 24 inch labbed Mod-VP cut Mercury Chopper if that is of any use.<object id="__symantecPKIClientMessenger" data-supports-flavor-configuration="true" data-extension-version="1.0.1" style="display: none;"></object>__PRESENT
I have a regular V6 22” chopper that I’ll sell cheap, it’s box stock. They can be cut down, I did that in the past to run on an OMC V4 which will only accommodate 14” diameter props. The inline choppers worked well but were getting harder to find.

Over hub? Lightning ET, Cleaver, Spinelli
The first Lightning ET's were apparently cut choppers. Old racers were cutting props all the time and I guess the factory Merc camp liked what they saw and made factory offerings of the same styles. For pleasure craft use I like through hubs better. I cant seem to get the over hubs to bite worth a damn coming out of the hole.
Is your exhaust relieved? If not, the exhaust coming out over the center of the blades will cause the prop to "blow out." Also some "negative" transom wedges for more down trim can help give some extra bite. I have never had problems with bite out of the hole but all my mids are drilled like a pro max with the liner removed...
Laser is 13 1/2 even pitch small hub. They run well at lower engine heights. Is your motor 4.25" hub diameter? If yes, stick with even pitch Lasers. Same with old Trophies. The evens were 13 3/4 small hub, the odds were big hub. I think the newer Trophy Plus are all small hub.
At any rate, the Trophy is my starting point. There are better props but for a $300 (used) all round prop it's hard to beat a used Trophy.
I used to lover the inline choppers, but they are ancient now and hard to find.
