Now I'm curious if anyone has put in all same main and idle jets , like.all 82s and 50 idle , would they still run rite ? I've got a set layin round and wanna put jets In em and give em a run
best I remember I used same in idle's and same in mains in wh and wmh's.. never fooled with tha wmv's much.. was goin' ta horn stuff 'bout that time...
Thanks Tommy. I run all 86s and 48 or 50s now in wh carbs , I wonder y the jetting is all over for wmv? I'm gonna set em up like I got wh set up, and do few low rpm runs and check plugs/ pistons as I go I rekon. Bout only way I no to do it
wmv's got to complicated for this simple 'ole man.... to many parts!
Iirc if the carbs are balanced you can, if you have the two different size setup you have to balance them first (bit of a pain).
theirs only a cupple unbalanced mercs though. Linkage or different size (link balance will normally have a carb less open at full throttle and smaller jet )
balance can cause higher idles and loading.
got my curiosity button pushed now??? never heard of such a thing with any v6 merc... wh, wmh (wmv's, refer ta post 5) carbed merc??? jus which one ya talkin' about!.. :confused: maybe one of tha little motors?.. but none of those used either, of tha carbs mentioned???
It is not unusual to have 1 or 2 cylinders that run richer or leaner than others from the factory. It could be airflow restrictions or lack thereof.
My Evinrude V4 project motor calls for size 33 orifices in the idle circuit for cylinders 1, 2, and 3, but #4 (bottom port) calls for a 35. These are air bleeds, so the larger number means more air. This tells me that #4 is prone to run rich - probably due to bleed hose routing and #4 being at the bottom of the bleed system (excess fuel/oil drain/collection system), so be careful ignoring what the factory found during years worth of testing.

i understand what ya sayin' but has absolutly nothin' ta do with a merc wh, wmh or wmv.. which are tha only ones merc use ona v6.. which is what was asked!... so why even bring it up? I don't understand... :reddevil:
whats so hard 'bout readin' above????.. granted I included wmv's and shouldn't have.. why bring in "different size and/or adjustment linkage, some open more that others junk in this thread also??? that's how newb's get ta lookin' for **** that aint there.....
My charts show wmv18-1,2,3 running .80 st,pc .82 pt,sc and .84 bs with iaj .28 cs, bs, and cp .32 bp and .38 tp no idea why it’s not giving me the 6th jets.
As for linkage its just design 1 or design 2
iver thirty years you just see odd stuff not always factory.
there is no carb linkage made for tha V6 merc that move one throttle plate more or less than tha other or at more or less speed of tha others that I've ever seen.. that's goin' all tha way back to my first (in 1976) 1750 V6???.. would like ta know more?
