I mite had jumped gun on that. I think the 3 3/8 is 2.4
Yes the 3-3/8 on the head would indicate the head is from a 2.4. If you have 2.4 heads on a 2.0 block you would have low compression. It looks like you have a 2.4 175.
Its a 1986/1987 2.4 175 according to serial number and the 3 3/8 two piece heads.
It could be a 2.0 with 2.4 heads, in which case I hope they were cut, but who knows. The 175 was a 2.0 up till about 82 or 83. From 83 till about 90 they decided to have a chrome bore 175 2.4 liter. From 91 on the 175 was a 2.5 liter. That motor could be a 2.0 or 2.4 and the only way I would know is to pull a head and look.

He posted serial number as 0B130163. 2.4 175
I see oil injection is removed. That's a good thing. Determining if it is a 2.0 or 2.4 isn't important to fix your problem. Install your new poppet, thermostats and make sure you have the right water pump. Take it for a spin. Take notice to water pressure at different rpms and watch temp guage.
will do once parts are here and installed. Will give the results when they are in. Thanks to all for your time, comments and experience.......
Got the parts today from basic power industries, and the poppet valve looks wrong. Mine has the small diameter one, this kit is the bigger one. What the hell I gave them my serial number and they said it was the right one.
It appears that there is 2 different poppet valves for these.

Ok, got a chance today to pull my poppet and compare to the new one. Right diameter but some differences. See attached pic. New on right old on left side. Have looked at pics online and in manual but some still not 100% clear.
Her are the differences I noticed on the new kit
The main washer / diaphragm (black rubber) has a harder staked lip / ridge on the outside- note will not fit down inside the cover recess, old did not have the hard ridge and fit inside the cover so when tightened the covers were flush. Covers will not touch if tightened with the new diaphragm bc of hard ridge.
Small white waster included, seems to be a seat for the spring ( mine did not have it)
black hard plastic seat, appears to go against the staked seat in the power head ( again, mine did not have it)
rubber seal, almost like a grommet looks like it goes the end of the valve - looks like the grove of this part would fit inside the black hard plastic seat, but have not pics that verify this.
last I have big stainless washer that I dont see in my
Hopefully some what clear what I am trying to describe.

yes thanks, I know and the parts are the same for both kits except cover gaskets in design I and II. I am concerned and have questions I stated when comparing side to side, especially the diaphragm.
Here is pic with the new diaphragm installed showing the covers wont meet, and some side by side of the two diaphragms showing the differences. Attachment 409277Attachment 409278Attachment 409279Attachment 409280
