LKB Racing test up there!! Maybe I will have a drink or 15 with you in September
I'm sorry to see that happen . Good news is, it could have been a lot worse ... :o
Paint and bondo side is good for showin you had a problem , but won't help when it come's to keep it from happenin again... :nonod:
Chaz = wants a pic or two of the inside ..:)
Straps, gussets, corrugation added, flush 100% butt weld or any overlap .. ???
Was the weld line down at the break ? The reason I ask, is because it's difficult to weld in a rear strap when the rear wall rolls away from you and makes a 90* turn . Not impossible, just not easy, especially without a brake that will handle 3/16" - 1/4' stock. And putting the torch and one hand in one hole, while feeding the rod and looking in another .. all while keeping it strong and pretty can be a chore.
I wouldn't be afraid to run another shortened can.
Been reading about this race and the Havasu classic since the 70's time has come:cheers:
Let's get a east coast group together, invade the west, we have All Time Great Al Stoker on our side;):D
I have the same mid on my vector..Michael Chapman supposedly did it. It has straps on the inside and it suits purpose for this light boat well enough..but for the enduro only a sand cast 15 inch will do.
If i do the enduro it will be in a 21 tuff with a 280 but the stars and moon need to align more better for me. Have the motor..just need the boat
