I know this is kind of hijacking this thread, but... You need to get the 1500 spinning higher! Those low rpms on those motors will kill them faster than a little over-revving. That thing should be turning 5800-6000 all day long!

Yeah, I just got the boat a few months ago, and havent been on the water too much yet. I figure going from a 3 blade 19" to a four blade 17 or 19 will help with that. also I really need to tear into the carbs....and pretty much replace the entire fuel system. Luckily, its all easy stuff, as long as I can find the right parts.

852xxx is a casting number, won't help.
Is there a freeze plug on the starter side near the intake covers? Many were set stamped on that plug. Check the distributor arm.
Im guessing its a 90.
On mine it looks like this. Starboard side.

WillDiver. FYI I think that P at the end of the Serial Number is a Pace Maker block. Factory rebuilt back in the day.
Yeah, Ive been told that. The serial number on mine isnt on the transom clamp anymore, so I had to do some looking around. The decals are all for an earlier 1150, but when I looked up the block, its a 78 1500. and also verified via the carbs (WMK-22) and a few other unique items. it was an interesting investigation.
I just ordered my carb rebuild kits, new floats, and fuel pump kit. guess I'm gonna play a little bit.
