What pistons are you gonna run? Stock deck height?
How hard do you want to turn it?
dave recommends wiseco 3119 w/ fp added.
Not sure on deck height or rpm yet, still got a lot to learn on how hard I can turn it.
carbs & stock ign may be the limiter
boat is 15'allison,
already built a 15" mid & v4 gcase w/ v6 shaft. 2/1 gears
Sounds like fun.
Track down a cheap Yamaha ignition if you want to go that far. It should turn mid 8s on OMC with carbs and small prop.
One bank finished, some polishing left.
Have started marking new port edges on the other bank, started up some case-porting aswell...
Looking forward to se your pics!Attachment 287959
I have matchported the block /sleves aswell, having a hard time to get the result on a picture becuse of the angle..Attachment 287963
I want to relieve the exhaust using a snout, does anyone have access to a movie clip where I can get to hear what a looper sounds like using an exhaust snout?

You might find a few on here.
On #1 are you referring to the hump in the roof of the reed block area?keep in mind that I have never cc'ed one of these crankcases, but looking through the front it looks like the starboard cylinders have alot more crankcase volume than the port cylinders due to the way they offset the reed blocks from the rod slots. Due you think they did it that way to counter act the flow vs crank rotation problem?
What kind of machines do you have access to? Buy some 3.3 sleeves, some pistons from Gordon and build a 2.2 V4. The displacement along with some good port durations would make for a neat little ride....
Racer, hope I can get your attention;
I would like to make the main transfers slightly wider to be able to maintain the angle of entrance towards the boostport. Is that possible? How much wider is considered ok.
I know that these cast iron ring should cope with a port with of at least 65% of cyl bore diam, but then it's the time/area thing...
looking forward to some interesting replies!
Thanks for the suggestion, I will LOOK @ this.

which intake are you using?
