Well it ran great again today! Not sure what cleared out, but so far so good!!
Congratulations, you fixed it stay safe.
Now for for fun part!! Tinkering, and trying different props, and setups. Thank yall again for all the help and patience. Means more than you know!
What are your numbers so far? Just trying to compare and see where we can all improve.
I finally got my '90 mirage/260 set up *fairly descent* imo.
10" setback, 15" mid, big window CLE.
2-1/8" above the pad seems to be the fastest and best handling. I loose water pressure at about 2-1/2" above the pad, but the boat is more squirrely up there and no faster.
So far on my 3rd time out I hit 109mph with a 28 chopper at 8200 rpm. Did that real consistent about 6 or so passes. The boat is real stable from 90 to 109 mph, the most wobbly is around 60 to 70 mph.
Does anyone know how these hulls do over 110 mph? does it get squirrely?
Is it even realistic to get much over 110 with a 260?

561 boat back in the day with a 260 and a little spray ran 128 MPH. Center steer 580 pound bare hull.
Its close to a 96 or 97 model.
Kevin‘s not trying to run the real big numbers any longer. At least that’s what he tells me.
When a motor is set up for Delta running it’s different than running drag races. Kevin can run over 110 if he wants to.
This Mirage bare hull 580 LBS stock drag motor with a little spray ran 125 MPH. It was about a 96 or 97 model. I know there are deck changes from 1990 models compared to a later model Mirage I believe there are some small changes to the bottom as well.
Yeah my bottom looks way different than Kevin's. It looks like there's 3rd step in the center pad. Not sure if that was factory or if someone added it. 30 years later who knows what all has been done.
I know Kevin bought his hull new. He has never mentioned doing any modifications to the hull. But I never asked him. Maybe? I will ask.
