Had a Kerker on my CBR 100000F. Carbs worked on, high gearing as we got fast roads out here rural. Gets ya too the mountain fast!

They were first released in late 82' as an 83'. That platform is one of Hondas longest running models. The most recent generation interceptor VFR 800s with the V tec are a very refined piece. The fuel economy is incredible and the top end for an 800cc bike is very impressive. This is still one of my wifes all time favorites and she sold her 2008 back in 2012.

Yes, and the castings had big room for improvement with porting and larger seats being installed. Suzuki was the king from 82' with the 1100es, then the 1150es, then they came out with the hayabusa. It wasn't until 2006 that Kawasaki got back on top of the displacement war with the release of the ZX14.

The 65 magna was physically a big bike, the tail lift caused from the shaft drive combined with the hard dunlop qualifiers of the day proved to be a deadly combination for a lot of buyers. I always liked the sabre better then the magna. I worked for a bike shop that had all of the jap franchises from 84' to 87' (high school years) and my job was to prep and test ride pre-delivery, needless to say, I loved my job and got to ride a lot of jet skis, bikes and sleds.
One of the most impressive bikes of that era was the FZR700-I had a brand new 86' and it would beat up on most of the bigger bikes due to its weight.

Remember the Turbo bikes! Yamaha, and Honda? A cool kid in HS (grad 68 me, just had our 50th last W/E!) Had the Yamaha, and not to long ago up the corner store here a guy with the Honda CX500 Turbo! Pristine! Remember long ago building a model of the Turbo Kawasaki!

Robbie,
I reunited with an old friend today for a about a hundred mile wind therapy session. I know you have a passion for bikes like I do, so I thought you might be interested. This one is a modified 95' that I built about 10 years ago and I also have a totally stock 85". These are great old bikes-(I am embarrassed to say that I don't think this one has seen daylight for the past year so it needed a run).

The old VMax! Damn beast when the (forgot what called..V boost?). Friend at work had one, and later another friend at work had the Venture! Later in life, a guy went to HS with, lived west Virginia. Had a Max, VFR 800, and a Busa! Loved those those fast sweepers there!
Yep, they have the V-boost that opens up the second set of carbs at around 5500. This particular bike has a 1320 kit and a stage 7 carburetor kit which eliminates the v-boost and air box. They are replaced with full time quad linkage, jet kit, and K&N filters. It builds a lot of torque and has run a best of 9.81 at 145 but its still a total street cruiser and not considered really fast in todays world. 34 years ago they were bad ass...

Some pictures of my last Harley project-126 inch S&S built by Kendall Johnson (made 155 at the real wheel) and surprised a lot of people. I made it into the S&S sub 10 club, but if you held into it in 6th gear eventually you would need both lanes. The bike didn't handle well at above 150 with all of the down force created from the fairing.
