whaaaaat? you lost me , transom and stringer are bolt reinforced ? never saw such a thing , makes sence , I guess . could you get a better shot of the whole bracket ? thanks
I have seen it a million times, just dont know where to buy one in west palm beach florida.
Sail boat parts place would have one... Gonna be spensive..
Summit racing, Jegs....
They have them in all popular sizes, both left and right handed thread.
Right off of Blue Herron blvd.
Chassis Engineering
thanks!!!
we never needed anything like that at Sea Ray , not even when installing 92 series Detroits on foam filled stringers , seems like alot more stress on something that heavy while gyrating in offshore conditions . some areas you just don't skimp on ridgidity on layup
Common on Suberboat's. Those bars if i remember correctly should have play, and not be fully taut (perhaps why they broke); @radar would know.
The 24 (and perhaps 21) does not have knees, my last 24' i optioned to have knees installed when transom was done.

Yup very common on superboats...it wasnt over tightened, just old and finally busted, $5 fix!!!
sea ray? with diesels....yea no this is an outboard, sea rays dont......need them. skimp on layup? ohhhh yes they are super high quality!
you need good knees to run and jump
yup, the boat is a 1985, not one stress crack in the transom.
Sure , 390's and 460's , 46 w/6-92's was a hoot w/20 people on board would accelerate so hard if you wern't holding on you would be on your ass rolling backward , Express cruiser , like a Magnum, Oh Yea :iagree: I built the radar arches
Not only common on Superboats but it was a well-known issue on Shadows which had balsa core transoms. It's been a minute but I recall superboats having plywood transoms and not needing reinforcement? In any case, today's outboards are bigger, heavier and generate more torque. Transom-to-knee reinforcements should be mandatory equipment on any of these boats.
Thats true, still runnin an old two stroke pro xs....would def build it up for a heavier 500r. But gonna run it as it is. The boat is 40 years old and not one stress crack...thats pretty good to me!
