Yes. I also suggested blue loctite on the screws. I put a little pool of loctite in a water bottle cap and dipped the tip of the screw in during assembly. Some pics here

It depends on the reeds you are using. Boyeson reeds come with the plate they want you to use with no stops. Chris Carson wants you to use the factory plate with stops.
Tony doukas reeds
Just use hold downs
TDR reeds here using factory stops. Runs great. Although I have to wonder here if this is my choke point? Maybe if I pull the stops it makes more power? Hmmm
I can’t get an answer as to how far the reed opens without stops during normal operation. I would guess not much more than the reed stop allows? Seems the stops might prevent damage due to lean sneeze, backfire, etc.?
I highly doubt that reeds open all the way to the stops. I have never seen a mark on any reed indicating they ever hit the stops.
sounds good on, another 1-2 hrs left for me on breakin. had it to 4000=50mph. hull weight 750lbs. running a scorpion26p. motor has no reed stops?? bought it that way? going with a 5hr breakin period. metal bearings, wsm 1.5mm 16a system o20over.
I am curious. How did you weigh your hull? Is that empty? With interior, carpet, seats, etc.? Fully rigged with battery gas tank etc. The Hydrostream site has different weights listed depending on where you look.

i put the boat/mtr/trailer on scale, tanks empty, lipo batt=0. subtracted 400 lbs/motor +trailer. 750lbs just what mfg. said from an old brochure, not exact, but close. heavy for only 15'6''x7'beam. front deck is 3/16'' thick, all f. cloth w/ 1''x2'' cross braces 16'' o/c from dash to bow.
I had to revisit my build thread I can’t believe I gapped on the weight but my hull came in at 694lbs not 704. I don’t usually make those kind of mistakes. I just got a free ten pound gain just by revisiting my thread lol. Anyways this is the method I used to weigh the hull. 694lbs is the bare hull no interior, motor, or rigging
