Outboard World Record

We are a Texas based company. All we do is design and build boats of all kinds not only for us but other builders as well. We are very serious about this project it is an All Out Effort. Dan Ellison has built the boat we will be using. We intend to prove what the boat will do. Dans Top Fuel design has already proven itself. The new Top Fuel plug that he is building is nearing completion and then will be sent to us to build the molds and the boat. The only part of our boat that is the same as the Lamb boat is part of the tub, The rest Dan and I have had in the works for quite some time. Dan is a big part of our team and always will be. I would love to post pictures but all of us involved which includes many members here on this forum decided not to and just concentrate on the task at hand. The machine work, metal work and engine building is second to none and very innovative, true craftsmen and artists. As far as this kind of project taking less than three weeks as stated elsewhere on this forum is Insane. Not only for the quality of production but for driver safety. Our paint job alone will take over a month. Which we are about to start. Erica Enders Za Za Energy Pro Stock car sponsored by our parent company did not happen in less than three weeks and neither will this.We want the quarter mile record and the Kilo but personally I want the 200 mph mark as well. We are most likely going to try a Lucas Oil event first, But with team members in Florida , Arizona and her in Texas all of that is up in the air. We plan on trying to attend as many places as possible.

We run Lucas Div 3 in a bracket class that is RULED by outboards the M/E class which is 10 sec class, will be awesome to see an Unlimited O/B or whatever class you run in. I hope that you run in Wheatland so I get get to watch, Phoenix is to far for me to travel, we also go to Augusta.
I do the O/B tech for KDBA, Ky Lake is a great place to run if you guys need another place to test or run. If I can be of any assistance please let me know

Thanks for the information and I will keep you posted. I just know people with SDBA and Lucas Oil and the were kind enough to give us a place to start. There are so many questions to be answered right now. There first question was the speed? we dont know. I built the boat Dallas Moore ran in 2002 in SE the only one that I built like that. Thanks again for the information this is the kind of help we need.

I really started out talking to Dan years ago about the speed record.I was dealing with the turbines in the large boats at that time and background has been with the Drags. We just felt because of testing time slips safety ect. that the Quarter mile was a place to start. And yes going after all those records sounds crazy but we have plenty of time. Just a dream trying to become a reality for all of us, If not we still will have fun trying.

I`m glad there are people that still want to break the outboard record and i hope it happens. Now what about all this drama involving the new safety cell rules in APBA and UIM that supposedly was written by the current OB speed record holder. In another thread it was disscused in detail and explained that nobody could build a cell that would pass these new regulations thus preserving the record forever. Was this just bs and maybe sour grapes of some sort. I hope so. Records were made to be broken.

We are going to the extreme as far as safety and that is where much time and effort has gone. Both from the actual boat to the metal fabrication. As i have stated true talent, its is a balance of safety verses weight ect. The whole thing about the cell seems to be a myth to discourage people from even trying. Thus thus start in the quarter mile. After that we will go for it regardless, everyone will know, and we hope to show it can be done. Who knows we may have to start our own sanctioning body, They did, times do change and records will fall, I only hope we can hold it for a little while.

not true from what i heard also heard the old red hydro was restored a while back and is sitting waiting for someone to break the record then they plan on bringing it back out to get the record back this is what i heard
they do want 5 newtons impact on the capsule i think it was but current ones are like 3 its been a while for me i have not kept fully up on it
its just a matter of calling and finding out what the current standards are

Now thats what I like to here, some really good competition, Kind of like sex, not near as much fun doing it by yourself. I do not now much about the red boat if it was to make a return what is its capsule rated for how and by whom?
