Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

So, this welsh sheep farmer takes his prize ewe and Bess his favourite dog on a cruise, storm blows up and the boat sinks----all souls are lost except the farmer, his prize ewe and Bess the sheepdog who cling together and make a deserted island, For a month or more the three survive happily, but human nature being what is the farmer starts looking hard and long at the ewe----he goes and strokes her with that strange look in his eye but Bess has protected the ewe since she was a lamb and starts to growl and snarl and bare her fangs at the horny farmer. He backs off warily and doesn't try that manoeuvre for another month------same thing happens again-------Bess leaps and snarls-----growls and drips saliva won't let the farmer anywhere near the sheep.
Every month does he try to get near the sheep, but Bess stands between them a snarling and a growling-----farmer is climbing walls by now---he badly needs some "Grumble".
then good fortune smiles on him-----after a stormy night a dinghy is washed ashore, exhausted in the bottom is the most beautiful girl with "Thunder thighs" and knockers to die for. Farmer gives her brandy and warms her in front of the fire rubs her body with his bare hands until she glowed pink all over, gently takes her by the hand and says------







"Would you please take This damn dog for a long walk"?

Angello had time for everyone. He was of the people, for the people, one of a kind.

anyone who ever raced in Italy , be it at! The Idroscala , Campione, Casale, Viaregio would have come across "LIEVIO" With the whistle!!-----he was Pit-Master, in charge of the cranes and boat launch and recovery. When Leivio was there you knew things would run smoothly IF you did as he said--------he brooked no argument------in the pits he was God. His right hand man was GIGI, day time job was driver and bodyguard to Carlo Rassini, Milanese banker AND international boat racer.
They made a formidable pair, point I'm coming to is-------they both did as Vassena told them. He was the quiet man of the Italian Federation.

OK, so the " Welsh farmer and his dog didn't exactly age well, never mind, it doesn't often happen, was just a bit lethargic yesterday.
Really pissed me off to be told "no more long haul flights" and no, you can't have your licence back 'till 3rd January.
First thought was no more "OFf" but then I remembered------BOATS still travel to the USA, May take five days-----takes two to fly anyway with the jet lag after.
You may see a new tranquil me at the OFF meeting, better watch out but don't hold your breath an uncumudgenous J/W would not be a pretty sight.

Seems like friends and aquaintances are dropping like flies these days, I meet old friends out in the street or at the post office and ask about Johnny Appleseed or Mary Poppins from puddle town only to be told "poor old sod died last week----burying him end of Feb, or she's been gone the last five years------------ask why it takes so long to bury or burn 'em only to be told------there's a back log---a queue---------funeral parlours and deep freezers are full-----they're stacking 'em upright instead of laying the poor sods horizontal. Doctors have been told to keep us alive a bit longer whilst they catch up with things.
Who'd want to be a human being these days, I ask you, not only that, have you seen how much it costs to "Cop your clogs" these days, I can't afford to go, that's for sure.
Council will soon put out out a red bin for old buggers to just lift the lid and dive in-----get collected once a month or every other Tuesday in the summer-----should be one on every street corner -----right next to the green re-cycling bin.
December resolution, no more old jokes 'till next year.
More about boats and old racers, preferably live ones but it's ok to recall past experiences with those who went before us.
Enough of this already------time for coffee and pills. J.

Forgive me if I leap about from one subject to another----my sainted mother used to say I had "A BUTTERFLY MIND". And there's a train of thought I may be going loopy-----but I dispute that most vigorously . My contention is you have to do this to keep a subject interesting-----bit like MIX-N-MATCH ON THE SWEET COUNTER.

I’m a bit of an old fart myself and I haven’t lost interest yet. You make it interesting ---- and fun ---.
I’ve never met Duckworth, Sheldon, or Ritchie but have heard of them. Ron Anderson came into the V6 group not too long after we started running “Old Blue”. He didn’t have anything to do with the original design but did modify it to produce what became the T3. I understand he’s still building race engines out in Dubai. Haven’t seen or heard from him in quite a few years.
I did meet with Blair a couple times at Mercury. He was hired by the company as a consultant. Can’t say I ever gained much of anything useful from him. Seemed he was mainly trying to sell Mercury on one of his ideas. We did, of course, benefit from hiring several of his students.
I’m thrilled to see you have taken in “Old Blue”. I was concerned about her health sitting around in that Florida atmosphere without the heads buttoned up. I assume Mark is doing the restoration at his place. May I ask what is planned for her once she’s ready for visual consumption? Will she be put on display somewhere?
BTW congrats to Hamilton for his second F1 title. He far outclassed Rosberg and would have won easily had it not been for those early hardware/software failures.

Ron Anderson sold his house in Naples last year(close to Seebolds).

I only met Blair in Paris many years ago---- was told he was a two stroke genius. as irish as they come, so it's only natural he was trying to flog his wares to Mercury.
Not sure whether mark will do the restoration at Wilson Custom Marine or GARY will do it at GIECO.
Mark. Is in the final stages of building a high Perf 50' motor yacht ----- shoved along with a couple of hefty Cummings through Twin Disc drives. Soon as thats finished work on the Cosworth and "Old Blue" can begin.
Rest assured she will wind up in an honourable position.

My opinion is the same as yours as far as Hamilton is concerned Rich Luhrs may not agree with us.

Can't get to the car boot sales 'till the new year and anyway I got an early morning date with the hospital in Chichester at 8am tomorrow to be monitored whatever the hell that means.
Went and had my eyes tested today--------- according to the whizz kid behind the million dollar Peeper perused I need long sightseers for moon gazing and short sights for reading-------special ones with side protection for the workshop. Bugger me, I only went in 'cos I had a bit of a headache bloody expensive headache -------£85 special, old pensioners with headache price. Wonder how much it would have been if I really had needed specs?
Will post a piccie of me as a four eyes, who knows, it may refresh the flagging image.

In 1980 Bob set an OZ kilo record at 127.09mph at Windermere.
He then let Rosalind Nott, the then Editor of Powerboat & Waterskiing, drive his boat to a kilo speed of 109.465mph.
I'm guessing Bob probably pre-set the trim and instructed Ros to put the throttle down so she could probably go about 110mph - at that speed the boat should have been OK in a straight line.

roz oz had balls as well as titchy boobs-------- she even put into print that she was "The fastest woman on earth" 'till I reminded her that a certain MOLLY BALLOU use to go faster than that most weekends.

There was a rake of female boat " racers " in Europe-around that time, Fiona Brothers, Pat Ainge, Bella Collville, Fiona (Fred) Countess of Arran. ------The Chessman Girl, Nicola Mora, and there's bound to be more who will be well pissed off because I forgot them.

Then there was Gina Campbell that Roger Jenkins coached onto her head but forgot to tell the BBC cameras she was going for the run so there is no record of the flip.

6 am I gotta go----- busy day, early start.

Not too much traffic on the Chichester by-pass so was at the hospital by 8 am. Directed to "Cardiac Investigations" ------ expected to see Jim Rockford or Frank Cannon prowling the corridors, no such luck, just a kid with a cooky spiky haircut and a plastic earring drinking coffee from a "Snoopy" cup. I already had a pre formed notion of what the kid was like as I asked him where his tattoo's were.?
Told me he kept them covered whilst on duty, said he was going to do an Echo Scan, just to see if the heart was pumping even and strong and see if there were any bits of debris floating about that shouldn't be--------turned out the kid was a doctor and above your average teenage hoodlum!!
After twenty minutes I was declared sound in wind and limb and to return on the 29th for monitoring and re--shoeing---------Jilly's entering me In the 2:30 at Fontwell on Boxing Day.

Gene, I have just seen you with the fixed wing! You crept in under the radar on the previous page but I promise to get back to you this afternoon. Look behind you Gene I'm coming up 83 next month-----and I've got a hell of a finish.
That reminded me------I have a very nice do it yourself kit car of a Duesenberg Phaeton bought for me in a previous life by a previous wife after the triple by-pass 26. Years ago come February .
