Right on Jim----one of the all time greats-----I'm sure I missed out quite a few. Point I was trying to make is the kind of humour-----you could let your kids watch them anytime------afraid I would want to see most of today's so called "Comedians" first before I let any of my grand kids see them?
Nice to hear from you Jim.

Hey Mike, something I did earlier-------don't worry------Lil Old Red is fifth in line-----should just make Tavares------maybe auction it off at OFF?????
Cleaned the SOUTH BEND off and winterised it, covered it with a sheet-----then tidied up the second workbench------that's as far as I got before I decided to make a fairly decent "COSWORTH DFV CONCEPT for a change. Well into the heads and have pulled all the metal for the rest, Will finish the tidy up ------then back to playing------thought about doing a V 12. Ferrari at the same time. Pretty sure I could get Marks friend Ronnie V to stick it on his desk!
Bloody rent day again tomorrow-----frightening how quickly it comes around, seems months since Christmas-----forecast is for sleet, snow and frost, glad I shall be sunning in Barbados when that lot hits.
Time I was long gone ( didn't Art Kennedy have a Jones called Long Gone?) rambling, MYGGWY. J.
My all time favourite sketch is Deano and Foster Brooks as the airline pilot------a great shame that comedy has descended into satire and bad language! Me myself have been known to utter the odd obscenity when the occasion arises------when you hit your thumb with a hammer, "Damn and bother" hardly seem to cover the situation.
Not raining yet so I may toddle off to the car boot sale and see what hidden treasures are to be found.
Nobody seemed to know a lot about the Hadron Collider----- thought at least Johnno would have filled us all in --------cost something like $50 billion, the US had to have a finger in that particular pie. Catch you later!
My Dad loved RED, He always finished with "God Bless"
Au contraire my friend... and since you mention that in a post about humor, I figure you might appreciate this little gem from your very own BBC:

Never did get ET 79 Seebold/Silverwing right------motor was acceptable but I did three different centre sections-------extended the sponsons by a third------the harder I tried the worse it got. It's on it's way to Florida now!
Will do another Concept after my vacation------start afresh with some decent piccies----new , bigger chunks of alluminium and a fresh saw blade .
Got my head down on the COSWORTH ------stellar day------ate grizzly all day long-------things just hummed along like a sewing machine!
First person I'll show it to is Hawkeye Hawkins----he was the "Clown Prince"of COSWORTHS-long before he was top brass at ILMOR ----if he gives it the thumbs up then I'll know I finally made it.
Put a lot of soul into this one------have to get everything spot on----I'm putting my name to it, even though it's only a concept.
Just had a peek at the PUGHIE 166---- that lad is a craftsman ! I see he likes to play with the back end of sponsons------Seebold used to do that often------short ones----extended----angled, cutaways-------once asked him what the difference was? Typical Seebold answer "Hell, I don't know, but it must do something!
Came away from the boot sale empty handed-----nothing I fancied----may get lucky at the scrap yard on Saturday. Lids are closing, night all! MYGGWY.J.
Ain't that the truth------they don't have them over here either------no more Tony Hancock----Benny Hill, Morecome and Wise, Monty Python, the new breed are not to my liking------but it's not PC to say what I think. JAY BIRDS come to mind ???
Cold as charity this morning------might have to switch a bar of the electric heater on in the workshop, just to get the digits moving----been dreaming COSWORTHS all night----I can get over most problems if I think about them long enough.
Off to lunch at "THE STAG" in balls cross, good beer and trad fodder, reasonable price, good company, what more can a man ask for ?
Looking forward to some outstanding sea food in the Carribean----Lobsters and Scallops, MMMMMM!
Lunch at THE STAG was good-------Jilly spent some quality time with one of her lifelong friends Roma, I had a gourmet burger with skinnies and a pint of Harvey's best bitter!
Got three hours on the COSWORTH------saw something was not quite right-----so dismantled it completely and corrected the hiccup.
Hoping to make big strides over the weekend.
Off to the "Metal Recycling Facility" crack-o-sparrer, just need a few special bits , only four working days left then its vacation time! Sparing you the rambling tonight, sleep tight MYGGWY.J.
Getting colder every day, white frosts each morning-----have a dislike of cold, frosts and snow, give me sun any day of the week.
Have to wear gloves to handle metal when it's this cold, forgotten what it's like to handle timber, must pull out a plank of hardwood and start combining metal and wood in a concept.
I worked the two mediums together for years, only this last year metal took over in most things!
Time to hit the scrapyard------take a look at "FUJI'S Mercury over the years thread, he does have some great reading------damned if I can figure out why he's so cagey about his identity, he could be Pruett reincarnated-----its something the old bastard would do just for a laugh!
Spent far too long foraging at the scrapyard and far too much money on the gear I found there.
Upside is, I have enough raw material to build a fleet ------and its motors if I never go there again!
Steve, my neighbour came round and asked if I would construct a former, so he could bend 6mm rod into plant supports-------he wants to bend 300 supports to prop up his plants so it had to be a half tidy jig. It took me an hour or two, but it made him happy!
Stitched the COSWORTH back together--------made up the plug leads-----(finally found the perfect material for the job)----closed the shop at 1600 hrs and had a stiff drink--------damn it all, it is Saturday !
no rambling tonight folks sleep well, MYGGWY.J.
Forecast is "Rain all day"-----swear blind the next generation will have webbed feet And England will be like Venice-----travel by boat and sing operatic arias-----have a diet of spaghetti and noodles, fried rice and drink wine. Probably with a McDonalds on stilts alongside the "Fish and chip shop!
Decided that Monday will be the last day in the shop working, have to save Tuesday for the big clean up------been like the road to hell-----"Full of good intentions "
Been a long time since I looked forward to a vacation as much as I have looked for this one----been a tough year for everyone-----a complete change is what's needed-----thank god we have each other----cannot begin to think what life would have been like?
Racked my little grey cells thinking who the hell "Fujimo" could possibly be----then Jilly got it exactly right-------if he wants to remain anonymous, then it's none of your business----out of the mouths of children AND wives---------???
Fujimo has got a bloody fine thread with his MERCURY THROUGH THE YEARS, Still can't help wondering just "Who the hell is FUJIMO ?
Bon Continuation Pour Le weekend !!!
Check the times he posts......
Ok Pilgrim-----so I'm suddenly Kojak ! Lifes too short to worry 'bout it-----and to cap it all, I never determined whether YOU were animal, vegetable or mineral ------Muslem--Catholic------Baptist or Vegetarian-------but it never bothered me much.
You watch his post times and let me know your findings Pilgrim !
Did manage a couple of hours. In the sanctuary this morning making a flywheel -----fun part was cutting the teeth on a 2" diameter wheel ------freehand on the bandsaw----then filing a chamfer on the teeth!'
As with most of my stuff, all seems well until I take two steps back and see how far the piece has progressed------then I can see basic errors I have to put right. This normally happens just after I think I'm cooking with gas and full of myself. Was hoping to get the COSWORTH finished before our trip, no chance of that ! You know the old adage "haporth of tar"
Managed about four hours today, that was enough, thinking more about the trip than the job, nearly time to put it to bed for a while.
See what tomorrow chucks up----MYGGWY.j.
MONDAY MONDAY,!-----just love that day---! Got quite excited at the thought of the sunshine-----new friends-----exotic booze-----total relaxation.
Read in one of the threads this morning that someone would like to go to Tavares to meet some of the old farts while he still can-----spring meeting does not coincide with any of my stateside visits but God willing I'll be at the November meeting. Hope it don't clash with Key West this year!
Last day of "Working" in the shop-----hope to get far enough advanced on the COSWORTH to send a "Progress" piccie, it's coming along nicely----even after a couple of major rethinks----has to be fairly presentable as its up for inspection and comments------me and my mouth-----at the time I was quite confident!!!!!-----but the closer I get I do begin to wonder IF ONLY ?
Haircut and beard trim this morning, like to look shipshape and Bristol before joining the other three thousand on board the " Celebrity"-----can usually find a quiet spot on the top deck------saved a couple of "David Baldacci" nonsense books for the trip. Can't afford the stupid internet charges on board so posts will be few and far between for the next couple of weeks!
Fuji has posted more Mercury hype than Joe Swift or Lassie Strom put together------only "BUTLER" has more pictures than any of them----and he's staying SCHTUM!
Had what was for me a good day, made eight intakes , only four were usable, the others are in the bin------whilst I made progress, didn't do enough to warrant a piccie.
Promise that regardless of, I will post a progress piccie tomorrow,
Head full of vacation today-------workshop looks like a scrapyard-----tomorrow is D Day, really do have to attack the place.
Told Jilly I would have to work on Tuesday------didn't get much change there------she said," Even God only ever worked six days". ,!!
A lot of water has gone under the bridge since I started messing with metal-----I like to think I got better at it over the years-----I'm secretly chuffed at this last effort, that's why I'm taking my time.
Come hell and high water, you will get a glimpse before I go on holiday!
Fuji has gone mental with his piccies today ------the Gullwing Merc takes pride of place for me-----must be worth a shilling or two today-------wonder if he has any pics of the NSU R90 that Ridgell brought from Germany for Mr K.
It almost never made it back to Oshberg, there was a fairground in Casale And GG in his wisdom decided we would race each other in our rent-a-racers in and out of the booths-----this was two AM in the morning-------the Wankel got kinda mixed up in the shenanigans. I'm rambling again, time I was out of here-------night and God bless, MYGGWY,J.
This time tomorrow I'll be at Heathrow waiting to get on a plane to miami ------small matter of today to get over first------
Her who shall be obeyed has decreed we should leave this afternoon and book in at an hotel near the airport--------temperatures set to drop well below Freezing and as the world knows, England does not cope well with inclement weather.
Murphy getting all hot and bothered and acting up, leaping all over the luggage like she wants to come along too. Dickie next door is in charge of her for the next three weeks-------she spends half her life there anyway.
"Once more into the breech"----can't lie here all day waffling-----will post a piccie of the COSWORTH effort later on today.!
Attachment 335025Attachment 335026Attachment 335027
Last piccie is a culmination of the last three months efforts----they will be relegated to the shed on our return, (by Royal decree)
Thats as far as I got with the COSWORTH---still have lots to do before I can offer it up as the finished article-----no rush now!
We did not travel to the airport----we leave at 3AM in the morning, forecast is for --4 and freezing fog-----glad the trusty Lexus has heated seats.
Will be in Stuart Fl. For three days-----if any of you are in the vicinity please give us a call!
May do a little post when we get to Heathrow, MYGGWY J.
Stuart Fl.
Finally made it to the colonies-----left at 3am Wednesday------that's the only time to travel. Was in the architectural disaster known as terminal two in under 2 hours. Greeted by the music of screaming girl bands followed by rap on the TV screens by youths with back to front baseball hats and slack arsed jeans showing off the cracks you could park a Harley in . JUST FECKIN GREAT !!!
Sat on the Tarmac for Two hours whilst a team of engineers worked on one of the blocked rear ****ters-----great start!!!
Our 747--400 jockey made good time----we arrived just an hour and a half behind schedule but the new ETSA checking system made short work of the lines, but what use are they if the customs officers still do the same thing all over again ?
Mark was there waiting to pick us up, NOW the holiday has begun.
Went to "Pirates Cove" in Stuart for dinner-----can recommend it-----great food!
Ready to go to Marks shop------have a great bay people !
Hey John, good to hear from you, most of my friends gone into hibernation since my arrival-----have no way of contacting Lassie.
Went to Gary and Lou's for dinner last night along wth the rest of the clan-----do get a big kick out of a family gathering, cannot believe my eldest grand daughter is turning 40---- absolutely love her to bits.
Mark's boat should be ready for April------what a fantastic job he's done, so many innovations, 50' of pure modern luxury and performance-----puts most of the big names to shame!
If you think I do concepts that are different-------they're nothing compared to his fifty foot concept of a boat for the future!
Boat magazines the world over will be falling all over themselves to be among the first to test and report-----anyone who knows Mark will expect something special, let me tell you, you got it ,IN SPADES..
Got a load of tools to pick up from various shops, mini benders for the exhaust systems, pneumatic engravers or a laser , sanding discs and metal cutting band saw blades.
Will take a look at the iPad pro-----just cashed all the cheques I got for half a dozen concepts, so might as well spend it while I can.
How high did my check bounce?
Off to the Boathouse for dinner tonight-------still reeling from Lou's pasta yesterday------will be grunting before we leave!
Been busy as buggary since we arrived-----nonstop round of visiting friends and family-----guy I sold the Lembke to is pleased with it?
never eaten as much in all my life------today is my last day in Stuart----tomorrow we join the cruise ship for two weeks.
Last time I was here was in the early 80's-----had to get back home for a triple by-pass, Nick Cripps very kindly took me to the airport, was very grateful------
Done most of the shopping, caught up with my kids and grandkids----promised to try and fill all thier requests, found a home for the latest COSWORTH concept and got some great ideas for the next few projects.
Really am rushing about like a blue arsed fly-----it's supposed to be a holiday damn it-----I just entered heart attack alley!
Was told I hadn't signed the "Lembke"-----told him BANKSY never signed anything either------he was happy !!!

Next generation and the one after that-------taking five. Had a great time with them this trip..
Mark nearly finished his boat and Craig back into Offshore later this year.
Amazing how many pairs of gear cases and props go through the shop each week.
Marks knowledge of propulsion never ceases to amaze me-----he is acknowledged as one of the top three leading propellor gurus in the world-------dizzy heights for the "bakers boy".
Jackie, I remember my thoughts as I walked around the shop during OFF 2011. I had never seen so many large (and beautiful) props and gearcases before. Everything I saw there oozed leading edge technology to me.

Jackie, Finally finished rigging the models after sourcing authentic looking miniature hardware most from the UK. I also was able to source proper scale Stainless Steel steering cable which turned out to be fishing leader. Note the authentic looking steering bar pulleys & shackles, the closed fairlead tie backs & turnbuckles. Although we didn't have the Super Strangler in 1971, the decals look much better. Besides, they made me use a Johnson motor cover because of Lou Eppel the Super Strangler looks so much better. The toughest to source was the windshield material. I tried many places, but while in a Michaels craft supply store I found this material that they used as separators on their shelves. I took one off & asked an associate if I could have it. I actually told her it was on the floor but she said that I could have it as they throw the excess away. I had the escutcheon pins which look to be to scale. Hope you like what I did.
