that’s Blake’s Tuff. It runs in the 1 teens, it will out run that STV

Blakes boat is no joke!!! We had a sloppy morning when I was up there for the breakfast run and he drove away from me when I was rolling 96-98!
it's mind boggling that a Tuff 24 with a 300 will drive away from an STV with a 280. The Tuff is a much bigger boat. How much power does the DBR kit add? (the dyno curve below came from here years ago)

DBR kit is about 30hp and netted me a solid 2-3mph and much better acceleration!
I know lol, I am never going to catch him I am afraid as I am 100-150lbs more then him. I have been saving weight and lots of it creatively but it is too much to with out loosing creature comforts. Also I still have a nice stereo, and big cushy seats lol! I had my 112 unicorn pass and most days with a passenger I can run in the 105 area.
He already had one in it this year when I was out that way. His is about 10lbs, the one in mine is 5.75lbs lol. I also have aluminum fasteners, drilled aluminum washers etc. Last fall before my fastest run I saved 80lbs with a battery, oil tank, trim hoses, and wiring alone. I also improved my weight bias so less ballast was needed to fly level while doing so.
When I was there I tried to absorb as much info as I could from Blake! He is a rock star when it comes to running and setting these boats up! Talking to him alone gained me seasons in testing.
Time for a diet?
I was bitching about weight on a previous project when a buddy sized me up and said…….., I see 30 lbs you could drop w/o spending a dime!
Didnt know whether to punch him in the face or laugh out loud!
I chose the latter.
Im currently playing w/a 2150 lb MGB w/a 100 hp and I just dropped 12 lbs of body fat and I’d have paid good money to get that off the car!
That 1.2 lbs per hp!
LOL……
I maintain a good race weight myself lol... 6' 155lbs.
I lived fast and lived tougher and lasted longer being old and crippled is the way it is but I’m still green side up
