Use good hose like heater hose not that junk they use for bilge pumps, not a good place to have a leak, when things get bouncing around back there a rupture could sink you.
Transoms done. A slight bit of interior glass work and paint time.

Nice restore, I bought a vulture new in 1978 with a Evinrude 235 it did 78 mph. In 1 1/2 years the bottom delaminated so they gave me a new 1980 for $800 the cost of increase in year. It was slower a bit heavier and had a lip on the pad. In 1984 a bought a 2.6 XP and with a land and sea hydrolic transom and low water nose cone kit and a Hoss 30 pitch triton 1 it was back up to 80 mph not bad for a box stock outboard. I don't think yo need a lot of set back cuz the transom is notched to start with. Good luck with it.
Wow... forgot about this again!

Turned out great! Are you just finishing now or did you just not update the thread?
Thanks. Its way better then I could imagine. It's all that's to my Buddy J-Lowe. He's got an eye that doesn't know "good enough "
Let me think about it....
We painted it in November and since then.... I updated this thread today lol.
Been to busy at the shop. But its gonna move forward now.

I discovered the secret to getting this going. Two weeks. What that means is I plan for two week windows where whatever project im working on gets my focus completely for two weeks, then i reassess. This way work and life dont get interupted too much but with two week cycles i can get substantial progress done on my projects. If all goes well i double down another two weeks but its seldom i get that much wiggle room. Two weeks of focus and this build will be done
keep after it
Today was pay off... 5 years later... she's a slug out the hole, need prop work and setup work but youy know what. I don't care. A boat that was a Lost cause to so may people was in the water after at least 10 years. Today was a good day.Attachment 505453
