This maybe way off but since they told you to raise the engine before and now to install a jack plate did the dealer install the wrong length engine?
Nope its a xl motor dor 25 inch transom....same thing j have. Always ran....unless it has the wrong lower unit on it......I guess I could measure that......my cavitation plate now is 1.5 above the bottom of boat.....they want me a minimum of 2.5. With this bravo 1 fs prop that is designed for alot of bow lift and go fast.....and I'm out of adjustment on the holes...only way to go higher is jack plate.....
Who the hell rigged this boat? I'm thinking that person/company should be footing all this"after the fact"crap. You PAID someone to do a job CORRECTLY, they should stand behind their work, or lack thereof! This sounds like what I call "shotgun diagnostics", put enough pellets in the pattern & maybe you'll hit the problem. Typical jackleg modus operandi.
Bot was rigged same way as the 2 other verados that was on it....neither here or there......it isn't going to gain 1000 rpms it is lacking and the 10 mph it is lacking from just being where the 225 was with a 300 computer
Also brian from mercury tried to tell me today the big eco enertia wasn't a bow lifting prop at all but they advertise the prop as increased bow lift!....and one engineer told the shop to remove the pvs plugs out of but according to the other guy it needs to stay plugged off lol
Gear box will go on but the gear ratio will be different your old on 1.85 new one 1.75. but you old one may not hang together
Get an attorney and stop messing with them. All it is doing is frustrating, costing money and stressing you out. Let your mouth piece deal with Mercury and end the BS. As long as you keep dancing, they are going to keep playing the music.
Also I thought the shifting part of the linkage was different in my 08 225 vs this 14 350
I asked before but never saw your response. Are you sure the throttle is opening all the way up on the engine?
Put a block under the gas pedal on your truck and see if it will run wide open...
I am assuming it is they never said anything about it
Plus if they replace your engine and get yours back they might be able to help prevent a lot of others from having the same problem. Win-Win situation.
They still say to much drag on gear case....well I found out my 225 gear case is interchangeable.....so I'm gonna give Tha a whirl for them
This list does not say that you confirmed that you are getting full throttle. With the time and money that you are claiming to be out, I wouldn't "assume" anything. This might not be your problem, but it could definitely limit your top end RPMs, as you have described. Anything is possible, the dealer could have "assumed" that it was opening all the way, and it not be. Would be very easy to check and mark off your list. I won't mention it again
hwo do you check on these electronic throttles if it is getting wide open throttle
