Thanks again Rich and crew. The police were there yes. Did they make it hard for us to have a great day? No. I talked to the Rocky Hill cops and they seemed to be enjoying the boats and I had a nice talk about the whole event with them when I came in to load up. I had a great day and will be back cops or not.
Ross,
A huge thanks from Chuck and I that were in the Checkmate 2400 with the 400R.
This was the first time either of us had attended.
While I agree with the general sentiments on the no wake zones and excessive blues-and-twos presence, the event seemed to come off without a hitch and we certainly had a blast.
The run back down to Haddam where we launched was awesome with plenty of hard running between a few of us. Big shout out to the Sunsation crew in particular, we'd like to see some of your footage and pics.

It was definitely worth getting on the road at 5:30am from central NJ and returning home by 9pm!
I put the pictures I got here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/knarlo...57659973205586
See you all on the water, and we'll be back next year.

knarloid - great pics!
We need to remember that if we had made a poor impression yesterday it may very well have been the last Ct River Run. Instead, it was turned into a positive for our sport, and increases the chance this event will continue. A few behavior changes are a small price to pay in my mind.
Don't know about everybody else, I've met cops who were real gung ho storm troopers, but the folks we met yesterday were just great:thumbsup:
And if you think you did, it was a camera trick.
I have to say I was pulled over down the river, when asked what I had done wrong replied nothing just wanted inform you of proper procedure ,glad he didn't see me up at haddem where I may have mis judge the 5mph zone so we are even.:Ddid anyone else experience crazy down drafts on the river?

He says he had nothing to do with this but I have my suspicions :D
Oh Pete, we can not trust every picture you post. Granted today sun is starting to melt the snow we got over the weekend and Killington opened for the season this morning. But really, the camera man was not panning on your boat which would make snow a blur and I do not see the the rabbits ears flap back with the wind.
