1987 Hull with 2001 300x. Currently being converted from a fishing boat to a family play boat with a flat floor and bow seating/storage. Also closing the transom and adding a bracket/platform combo.

I have got to ask the question. What speed does that boat get with a 300x? I have a 2003 wih a bracket and closed in transom if you want some pics.
Tom
Tom,
Post some pictures please. If you have some nice shots of the transom and the boat at rest in the water that would be awesome. I could use a couple more pictures for reference while building mine.
To answer the speed question I never ran it past 72. Too chicken. The previous owner said 75 and there are others that claim with a 300x the boat can run 80.
The hull is a contradiction. You'd think with a pad it would have been designed to boogie, but with the "wedges" keeping the nose down it's going to be slower but great riding in the chop.

According to Bajamerc200 there are other issues that keep this hull from being a top end performer, but in my case the top end is not important. For the most part my everyday use of the boat will be in the 25-45 mph range with a boat load of kids and water toys.

did that boat come from crystal river?

yep, also looks the same as mine...
To keep the peace at home I've been doing some modifying on the paramount to add a seating package up front. This will make it more of a day boat than a true fish rig.
I had the front floor removed and then dropped so it's level with the rest of the floor because I hated the little 4" step up. When it's upholstered, in front there will be a sunpad plus we'll have 2 filler cushions that will fit between the new benches to make the sunpad even bigger when needed.
I plan to slide the console back about 12" from where it was so there's more room for legs when someone is using the seat on the front of the console and there are people in the bow.
Next is filling in all of the holes in the deck and gunnels and then we are going to close in the transom. If all goes well I might have it back and get it ready for water by march.
