How did veteran drivers like Scotti, Percival and Velden end up on seawalls anyway? Sounds like they made risky choices for racing lines. I never liked racing under bridges, near seawalls or dams.

Chanticleer 1947 DeFoe, first of the pre-war Cruisemaster yachts to be sold postwar, belonged to Ralph Evinrude and Frances Langford from 1955-1965. She was originally sold to John Pace of Pensacola, FL.

Ah yes, now I remember the seawall danger. The safety debate in APBA raged on for the next 2 years whether the crew chief of each race boat entry should have a remotely radio controlled engine kill switch. Safety cockpits were NEVER designed or built for direct impact to a bulkhead or seawall. Safety issues like this incident was the beginning of the end for series OPC racing in the USA.
Very dangerous moment for the people in the safety boat at the blind corner. Bad accident there in the 70's killed two people in a safety boat.
Pretty good shot of twin V-8 offshores from back in the day.
Another one w/recreational based motors.
Lars, did you like driving at Bristol or dread it?

Jonas Andersson (#1) of Sweden is the 2024 UIM F1 World Champ.
(This is Jonas third UIM F1 World Champion title)

What motor is that?
The only engine allowed in the UIM F1 is the Merc 2.5 liter 2 stroke.
(Marit Stromoy is using the Merc APX V8 but not fast enough)
