Overkill on horses - wasted horsepower money.
How many times will he go 100+ mph, albeit very few times, and then at limited-time travel too at each 100 mph run.
Surely there is very, very little retail market for this type pontoon speed ride.

I think this was two boats ago. All of his have had triple X motors and he builds them to run and maintain his status at the LOTO shootout every year. He has a place on the lake and uses the boats more then you might think.Quote:

Seeing that boat reminds me of when i was in high school.
1968 in auto shop the teacher was a boat guy.
One day a truck pulled up and we unloaded a new bare hondo hull.
Next day a truck load of steel showed up within a week he had hand built a trailer.
More parts the next week.
Then a Holman and Moody truck showed up we unloaded a brand new 427 cammer.
He got it all set up with dry headers.
Got to go for a couple of rides as i remember tab all the way down hammer it start bringing the tab up and hang on.
There is nothing like an inboard!!!!!!

Funny it sounds like we had the same shop teacher. He brought in a bare Hondo hull, put in a Olds 455, also built his own trailer. I was out in it a few times. Not sure how fast it was but seemed like it was screaming. It ended when his kid had it out and ventilated the block.
How can a shop teacher afford a new hull and a new cammer.
Teaching used to be relatively better paying? Boats and motors used to be relatively less expensive? Some of each I expect. Teaching in Canada is still a well paid gig, at least once they climb the seniority ladder. And great pensions.Quote:

this guy definatly said I wasn't going to go over there , meaning if he took the teach job he was exempt. from memory , enrolled college students , civil servents , { postal workers etc ) were exempt , as far as teachers , not sure but would not be suprized
Yes, teachers were exempt. So were almost everyone who was the sole support of a dependent when called up. My cousin claimed his disabled mother and minor aged brother as dependents.
