That's what we did. We also did the local hockey rink, wooden boards, chain link ends to 6' behind the nets, natural ice on grass. Night after night of flooding it and scraping it to get the base and surface. Neighbour hood pride, everyone helping and playing hockey. Great afternoons and late into the night with lights on. Pleasure rink as well right next to it for the young kids while the game was on.
Should get a chance to shovel a bit this weekend!
Kids don't do that sort of stuff anymore. I shoveled for dollars when I was a kid. Now I am old as are my parents and most of my friends so I bought a plow and clear drives for free. Makes me very popular on snowy days.
