Great pictures as always Lars.
I was a co-owner of a Johnson dealership in Homestead, Florida for 10 years from 1974 to 1985. Cycle Marine Suzuki. We were the first Suzuki outboard dealer in Dade county. Also a Suzuki motorcycle dealer and a mariner outboard dealer and well craft boats. Had a nice little business going for about 10 years. Eventually sold it and went into Marine trucking long distance hauling of boats. Been involved with the Marine industry since I was a kid. Great place to grow up Florida. Best always Amberjack. RIP, David Gilmour, a great friend and a legend in the Miami boat business.
What lower unit is that? Can't see it well in that picture but doesn't look like the ones we used in APBA SE.
All Evinrude/Johnson (1975 model year and up) 75 HP with 15 inch shaft sold in the US and Europe used in the UIM/APBA SE class was using the gearcase in the picture with the nickname "nitro..(100% stock)

When they started to run this lower unit I sold my 49in Mercury rig and went back to running a 44in motor on my old McCall. Just could not keep up with the OMCs in EP or SE anymore.
The 1975 didn't come with a rear swept back skeg. I know the 1976 didn't also. I had a 1976, it's now on display at Seaway Marine. It's a brand new 1976 short shaft E motor. Never run.

swept skeg for vee bottom
straight for tunnels
Correct..the swept back skeg came after and the old style was replaced when you purchased a new spare part gearcase. (Old style skeg was no longer available)
