Nothing comes close to the quality and toughness of the old die cast MerControl. Only significant design improvement in recent times was the trim control rocker switch. I "updated" my die cast MerControl arm many,many years ago by drilling a hole near the knob end of the arm and mounted a momentary toggle switch and taped the wiring with a lot of play for F-N-R movement. It looked kind of clunky but the set-up was indestructible.Quote:
