. That’s Carly, one of my daughter Boo’s kids, Garry thought it might be fun to take her for a ride in Miss GIECO. He kept it below 150, just to be on the safe side!

[QUOTE=Rotary John;3211025]Jackie: Uncalled for and unnecessary. Lars had nothing to due with BRP throwing in the towel. I don't know where people are saying Merc bought Evinrude. BRP made an agreement with Merc to put Merc motors on BRP boats.[/QUOTE
Never thought for a minute Lassie had anything to do with BRP chucking in the towel. He fought for Evinrude tooth and nail for the brand. Nowhere did I say different.
Same as it didn’t say Mercury had the Evinrude label.
Lets be honest Johnno, both brands never played to “Queensbury Rules!
Might have been case of incorrect business decisions, by OMC management, marketing and engineering.
This reminds me of John Wayne asking for directions in the movie Quiet Man. At the train station there was no unifying consensus by the co-workers in the movie. Then an outsider comes and rescues the Quiet Man, and takes him to his needed destination.
Apparently OMC did not have that luxury of an outsider Savior.
Quiet Man - drections please:

I think Mercury are smart enough to know there’s a lot of mileage still left in the Evinrude and Johnson label. Would have been a shame to let it go to to the Far East and get lost forever. Cant begin to imagine a JOHNOSAN or an EVINRUDISIKI. IT WOULD SIMPLY DISAPPEAR INTO OBSCURITY.
How can they possibly expect to sell the MG. Its as english as Bentley, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce.
Germans were smart enough to build Rollers and Bentleys in England, even though the Marques were owned by BMW and Volkswagen . Chinese are not that smart.
May be on the back burner for the minute, but it will be in our lifetime when the Johnrude is resurrected.

Somedays in life, you get an unexpected surprise. Today I got one.
My youngest daughter Sam has been married for 25 years today.
Yesterday was her 54th birthday, so I cobbled together a sun dial out of a 250 year old oak beam that I rescued from an old barn some ten years ago. In fact, its the very last piece I had left.
i called in late this afternoon to wish them “Bon Continuation”.
She took me by the hand and walked me to the beach side of her garden.
What do think Dad ?
Two years ago I made her a couple of “WHALE TAILS” —— Last year a pair of fossilised tree roots out of St. Leonard’s Forest. They wound up in a corner mostly discarded.
She had spent the day with her sister Kim, creating the most wonderful architectural garden imaginable.
Told me she had been waiting for the right moment to create something entirely different. The sun dial was the clincher.
Somedays you eat bear! Other days—————-

I used to think that was WILLABEE Bob, but its apparently RICK WELCH WILLABEES BROTHER.
Leave it to Wilson to show a small picture of someone's back and ask you to guess who it is ..... :nonod:
This picture will only help a little in identifying Richie Powers as the man in white, working on Renato's twin in 1970.
