Gov also gave away the secret to the flying tail to the USA which was the secret to breaking the sound barrier

Lewis is not my buddy, I don't know him and have never met him Pilgrim but I do think he is the best driver on the scene today and if he keeps his mouth tight shut and simply uses his driving ability he could become one of-----if not the greatest driver in history.
Its a mistake to compare himself with Schumacher and he will have to have a decent set of wheels in the coming years.
Ferrari will come knocking soon enough-----just hope his head doesn't get too big for the crown.

One of of my grandkids hit the nail on the head----"Where ya get the barn find grandad" out of the mouth of babes and infants comes pure truth!
One last shot at getting it to look something like, have to use the spray can.!

Forgot to tell you, I bought this at the car boot sale on Thursday, cost me a tenner. Want to try and slow the motor down so I can cut metal without breaking the bank. I use the Startrite for too many other jobs, but the blade travels far too fast for metal cutting------five minutes cutting alloy and its buggered..
Thought about putting a variable speed motor on it similar to the one on my lathe. Cheapest way is to reduce the size of the toothed belt pulley.
Don't seem able to find one on the dot-dot, suppose I'll have to spin one up myself and cut the teeth freehand!
Struggling with the jockey wheel on the posh trailer for the COSWORTH -----thought it would be a simple hours job, but one thing leads to another, in the end I decided -----posh trailers need posh jockey wheels.
Glued up the second tyre and fixed it to the wheel, bearings work fine, stuck the green baize on the runners and a front "Bump post", halfway through the mudguards .
Wonder how many old racers remember the 12"X2" runners and the shag pile carpet we would stitch on to the tunnel boat trailers?
Rossi lost out on the Moto GP title by five points, while it makes exciting biting to watch, 'twould appear there's a wee bit of friction and more than a tad of jiggery pokey goes on.
Tavares almost here----this time next week it will all be over and I shall have missed it!
Will try and get some of you on FaceTime over the weekend, you can tell me what I'm missing.

Bloody "LANGHAM SPINNERS" ---------they're everywhere I look!!!
Think everyone went to the moon for the weekend, nobody came out to play------ami the only one excited by Tavares ? And I'm not even going !
Monday Monday------just love that day----and Mama Cass-----second week in November and five until Christmas . Four weeks to the shortest day, another five and I shall be damn near as old as Gene, where did they go, all the good times, the racing and the wine ???? Wonder if anyone out there remembers "BLUE MINK"
In a nostalgic mood this morning, but can't stay here for long, just a short while to reminisce before "the cares of the day" !!!
Suppose the trek to Tavares and the pilgrimage to Key West kicks off today depending on your religion. Me myself will be keeping the little grey cells active and the arthritis at bay either cleaning the shop up (which is like a pig sty) or creating more useless concepts which no doubt will be demoted to the patio table.
Have a good week people, I'll be thinking of you!
MerCruiser M8 drive. Propnut cover, anti-theft cover available now. They are both great parts. Attachment 331290

Picked up "Charlie Heston" straight outa the scrap brass bin------10 cents----you couldn't even make it up could you?
Jackie - I don't particularly care for Marques (sp?) or Honda, but Rossi deserved the grid penalty. He clearly and deliberately caused Marques to go down. And because he was racing him too hard?? It was exciting to watch Rossi come through the pack though.
I grew up racing boats and love all types of motorsports, but I have to say that Moto3 is the BEST racing I've ever witnessed. Sometimes a dozen lead changes on one lap. One straight-away for that matter! And they usually don't string out.
Tom and I are talking about Tavares-
-But--there is an issue with the landing gear--
The clock is ticking!!!
Stay tuned--

Oh boy, is that one mother of a toy shop ----- mine is not even one twentieth the size Gene!
Bite the bullet Mr. LANGHAM ------call out the engineer----some toys just cost a little more.
Came back from Havasu in 1970 in the company plane, remember it had two motors. Was it anything like the "MALIBU" ?
Hi Jackie - please check you PM's - sent one yesterday. Cheers, MR
Jackie--that was probably the Brunswick/Mercury Sabreliner---wasn't that after your little event at Havasu??? Comparing a single engine piston to a twin engine jet?? That is tough--- They both share two things---$$$$ and the 'lift formula'

Yes Gene, that was after"My lncident"
Gene, my sainted mother must have been an engineer, she used the alphabet in a similar sort of way!
A -----your adorable
B------your so beautiful
C------your a cutie full of charm!
D -----she was always saying how dense I was
C L------if only I'd have known coefficient of the desired angle of attack, I would have been ready.
L ------lift after a kick up the backside
Kinda brings a tear to your eye don't it ?
First time I've had a long chat with my son Mark since he got back from China , he was full of his visit over there.
He's off to Key West tomorrow ------they cut the size of his stand in half -----he was going to take the COSWORTH and put it on display but now doesn't have the room, so he's taking "Old Blue" instead.
Might be a couple of old farts down there, but I think most of em will be in Tavares.
Yup, can tell by the total silence all the old farts are trekking to Tavares -------should be out there, but circumstances dictate otherwise. Oh to be a fly on the wall out there !
Had my half annual check up with the doctor today----diabetis is low, half a pill daily, cholesterol down to 3.2------ no more headaches------been eleven months since the DTI with no after effects (except total panic amongst insurance companys)-----blood pressure of an18 year old athlete.
Cleared for take off------can fly long distance any time I care to.
When this hand is played out, Jilly and me are taking time out and going off somewhere warm and exotic, maybe a Carribean cruise, all on our own, just need each each other, hold hands , reflect and reminisce-------think the kids call it "Chilling out", whatever the hell that means ?
Part arrived for my spot welder, so can finally finish all the concepts that need a final squeeze !
Worked on the "posh" trailer, should get it finished in the morning. Brought the COSWORTH in out of the rain, boy is that ever in a right old state-----only been out there a couple of weeks , don't know what's coming down out of the atmosphere but it plays hell with polished alloy boats.
Taking my sister and spouse down to the CRAB AND LOBSTER at Siddlesham for lunch tomorrow, it's Jilly's birthday----will call in and see Matt on the way there.
We've been married twenty years next week, seems like months , not years!
Anyone remember another "BLUE MINK" song--------"Where did they go all the good times.? Maddy Bell was the singer.
I got up and made the tea this morning-----well, it is the kitchen goddesses birthday today so I thought I would give her a treat!
Will only get a couple of hours in the shop today, trying to get back to some sort of normality, doing a bit of socialising. Getting too stuck in my ways, have to change.
First race in key west today----safe race to all the competitors-----MYGGWY.
Most of the old farts will be wending their way South----have a great time, all of you, see you there next year.
Good morning Jackie
See you there next year--
I think the issues with the landing gear are resolved---but the decision was made that a 1500 mile 'test flight' shouldn't be attempted
Sitting up waiting for Karin to return---Lufthansa on strike and she got stuck in Rome --missed her connecting flight---now driving back from DEN in a snowstorm in the middle of the night---these overseas flights are only for youngsters!!!
C'mon Gene you can do it------tell me a better feeling than going to pick up someone you care for, however far, whatever the weather, or the time of day or night,-------it's that little old thing called LOVE.
We will without doubt be a year older but we'll meet in Tavares around this time next year Gene.
Maybe I'll get a trip in the Malibu with you .
Only going to talk about nice things, nice people, nice boats, nice happenings from here on in, need everyone at the old farts meet to have a great time.
Hear on the vine Billy is partnering the preacher man------man I tell you, there is no end to the tricks that guy will stoop to when he wants to win that trophy-----even divine intervention is fair game!
Bill and Betty been out shopping for "Holy steaks" for tomorrow's Barbie in Apopka, you will not leave their house hungry or thirsty, that's for damn certain!.
Golf trophies arrived but not until all the matches were well under way.
British and US customs had made a right Royal mess of examining everything, but taking a sponson off one of the tunnels and losing one of the " Rotories" was a tad over the top.
Just hope it was all worth it.
Serra got hisself a gorgeous new girlfriend-----how the hell does a short, cranky miserable little **** like him do it ? Maybe hypnotism !
Wont know for a few hours yet how the Barbie went at Bill and Betty's----had to be good ----certainly a good turnout-----doesn't matter a damn who won, as long as a everyone had a great time. I think it's a nice way to start the Tavares weekend, whether your a golfer or not.
Enjot the weekend all of you, I will be there myself next year, God willing !
Jackie, the trophies are amazing - everyone is in awe! Love the Sprint 16 and a dab of glue will have the sponson back on in minutes.. Actually added a little racing authenticity to it - the real boat suffered a few incidents too, you might know. The BBQ and golf tourney was a ball - how could it not be with that cast of characters in attendance? Two surprise guests arrived late for dinner too: Andy and Phillip Bullen! The party is on - We were glad to see you on Skype yesterday, but wish you were here in person.. especially Bert! 😎
So glad you enjoyed the golf, really sneaky of Seebold to partner the preacher-----he's like that though!
So sorry the boat got damaged, both lots of customs get twitchy when you ship metal and wood items, can't really blame em really!
Bill and Betty really do put on a show don't they------said not much drinking went on and everyone was on the way home by ten.
Thanks Lassie for keeping those of us who didn't make Tavares, informed of some of the goings on, much appreciated !!!
My darling Jillys boy Mathew died yesterday, just forty days after her eldest son Ivan.
Its been a tough year for us all, maybe now there will be some relief from the anguish of the last few months.
Was no point in spoiling the fun at Tavares , telling you all the bad news, figured it was best to say nothing until Monday morning.
Would like to say a huge thank you to all our friends at the old farts for all the wonderful support we have had from you all. Things would have been much harder but for that. God bless you all.
John Sheldon
Betty Davis, Jackie's friend needs your contact information, primarily a shipping address for the concept model of the RC that Jackie made for you. Her phone number is 407 756-8071
John, who the hell is BETTY DAVIS, ?????
The Bette Davis must be a hundred and twenty seven by now. I do a know a certain Betty Baker, you know the girl I mean!! Married Bill Baker a while back now.
i should have just bitten the bullet and posted R/J's ROTORY direct, it's just that postage to the USA can get a tad hefty when sending anything larger than a birthday card, that's why I usually auction off a couple of concepts to help defray some of the cost.
Don't even know if Stavros managed to auction anything this year-------not even Lassie mentioned the fact.
Time for all my friends and old farts to start talking to me again----was head down and Arse up in the shop today, made the best gear case ever for the concept of the "BOSS", biggest feck off Merc ever! They should tag the R & D race version "RAMROD"-------
Should have my own interpretation of the "RAMROD" by the end of the week, probably post an "IN PROGRESS" piccie pretty soon.
Trouble is, imagination , creation and Butler all retired from Mercury a while back!!!!
Mark tells me "OLD BLUE" stole the show down in Key West, seems like his stand was busy till midnight------he tells me there's no doubt about it------she's rapidly becoming the most famous Merc of all time, and is still totally original.
Courtesy of Scream and Fly no doubt.
Sorry should have checked first. The phone number is correct though
Jackie, where do I send check for my concept . Or would u prefer a postal money order
John, a cheque will do just fine, never had one of my friends bounce me yet, I don't think that's about to change !

Just want everyone to be happy with with what they got. If anyone is unhappy at the price, then forget it, more important I keep my friends than fall out over a few dollars.
Started already on next next years golf tourney prizes, found a beautiful old brass, cast figure of a golfer driving off the tee-------it cleaned up nicely-------cost me two quid-------at this rate I should be able to get all the trophies done for under fifty bucks. That's a result !
Twenty years ago on Saturday, Jilly and I tied the knot------been one hell of a roller coaster ride, they said it couldn't last-------maybe it won't ------but we decided to give it our best shot anyway!
We decided on a Carribean Cruise early in the new year, finally got me some medical cover, could have flown first class to the moon and back for what I was charged, blasted insurance companies and banks come a close second to the government for being legalised robbing bastards !!!
Have a nice day--------I'm going to !

The old rotary beat you again. We had 25 yrs last week.

John,
Congrats.
Did you contact Betty Baker (not Davis as I wrote above)?

Was in deep "Thunk" all day-----switched on to auto------that's where I landed!
Bet you didn't have 38 years the first time round though Johno------your move-----CHECKMATE ?
Jackie: That was only the first lap, I'm still ahead this lap.
I didn't make OFF this year. The store I work at burned down and I am helping out trying to put things back together. I called Bette and left her my address and I have yours from above.
Attachment 331772Attachment 331773Attachment 331774Attachment 331775
Seems there was was a problem with piccies of the "Ramrod" concept !
Its just another of the TRICKS i get up to every now and again, probably send it over to Tavares next year-------it'll do for the longest drive or it could make a few dollars towards the postage.!
Guess gods mad at the world again, we have a couple of storms and a rather nasty blow job heading this way, 65 mph winds forecast with lots of God Juice.
Maybe Stavros will let me know how things went at the OFF prize giving -----most of the guys got their concepts---- ROTORY John and Schubert never made it, Betty is posting the stuff on for them.
Wilson Custom Marine picked up a shed load of business at Key West-------Mark reckons he's taking the COSWORTH down next year.
Would appear the cost of a fresh built DFV has fallen by nearly fifty per cent since the demise of the historic race series, who knows, it could be up and running this time next year!
Have a personal request---------please don't hold the next fall meeting to coincide with the 11th November next year-------that's Jilly's 70th birthday and there's no way I will be let out to play, the week before, or the week after will be fine.
. Just a few updates Jackie we all really missed you this year but many of the old faces were still present and some new faces as well.Johnny Bakos had shorter hair and was sporting a beard he looked 10 yrs younger. Stickle was present and looking good .Steve Sirois looked fit and was his usuall friendly jovial self.Odell was his usual self but maybe not as vocal this year.Cadillac had a big smile for everyone .We had Phil and Andy Bullen along with our old friend Dave Brockington we really enjoyed ourselves and I got to meet Mark Rotharmel which was great. Then we had a trip over to Mike Mullins with Phil and Andy Bullen and we got to see Mike Mullins hidden treasures so all in all we had a terrific time and we also managed the superboat at Key West.
Wish I could have been there to see "Old Blue" again. However she is not totally original anymore. The heads are just production diecast ones -- the only thing I could find to get her buttoned up back there in '95 when I found her all forlorn in the basement at plant 64 in Oshkosh.
I am glad to see Jackie, that you have adopted the feminine gender for her too.
