Come on water zebra John Schubert, if you’re an OFF you have earned the right to express your opinions, no matter who it pisses off, upsets or offends that’s just part of getting old and cranky. Best always Amber Jack.!!
Great pictures in history as always Lar
Didn’t get a chance to complete my thoughts in the previous post but as far as history goes, the James Bond boat, chasing scene was the greatest in history. I don’t think any of the car chases even in bullet topped it. Albert broccoli was probably the greatest Director of Bond films of all time Sean Connery is still my favorite, even though Daniel Craig is right up there. Best always Amber Jack

Lars- I just wanted to both thank you and congratulate you for continuously doing such a fantastic job keeping the Outboard and Racing History site alive. You are the only contributor that consistently stays with the theme of the website, Outboard and Racing History. I always enjoy reading your posts because you always share all the information behind the pictures including the who, what, when and where. Anyone can post pictures, but your pictures are from personal collections and are very informative. Thank you for taking the time to do what you do...
Wow @Bob V
That's exactly how I want readers here to feel about this thread. There is plenty of great OMC racing over the years most people don't even know about.
I was one of few having the opportunity to be part of it.
Its still fun to keep the thread going..and as long as its fun is going to continue.
Thanks again @Bob V
Sorry about trying to confuse you guys water zebra may you remain anonymous! John Schubert I’m pretty sure I remember you when you came down to the Miami Marine Stadium to raise some of the major races down there, but it was years ago I was just a local racer are ran an orange Molinary with a blue stripe twister or later on I had a yellow, Al Martin Boat with the super strangler Johnson later on I ran the same boat with a T3 mercury. This would’ve been 19 74 through 76. Later on transitioned back to inboard racing with the GN boats. Sorry for the confusion best always Amber Jack
Had a chance to meet Mr. Ceres Van derVelden when he was in Miami, I believe he was still with mercury at the time early 70s he was at a party at Mr. Gary Peacock‘s house along with a bunch of other mercury guys. Thing impressed me was that he said he owned a small appliance store in Amsterdam, but he had a sack full of uncut diamonds Would choke a horse. Spent plenty of money too. He was a class act and he didn’t mind spending money best always Amber Jack
