This is many times (and very good friend) Offshore World Champ Mikael Frode of Sweden in his (I think) Seebold UIM SN class production Merc V6 2 liter.
He tried hard to get this class going in Sweden but the 20 inch shaft/large gearcase made the boat pretty hard to drive.

Notice the top two holes in that lower pan. That was where you would bolt on a steering bar. Two bolts and that was it. Later motors made fitting a steering bar much more difficult.Quote:
