Totally rebuilt the 115.
Just got it wet with a half a tank break in.
Then the Switch box crapped out.
Should be back out this weekend, seems quite promising. :D

Worked ok to tell you the truth. Hell out of the hole with the right prop. Didn't like chop much though!:eek: Water or throttle!:D

Oh yea...we blocked off the top 1 or 2 water holes to run the motor as high as possible since it drove better with the motor higher. The 10" wide pad on the bottom made a big difference in top speed handling but I think only gained 2-3 mph over the factory bottom. Who knows if a Bob's lwp would have helped for speed but it was a flat out hand full when it got up on the pad. No Feed Back steering or hydraulic is a must for on of these if they actually get up and float like this one (which I have seen a handfull of 13's that ride flat no matter how much power you throw at em.) This is off topic but a few months back we rigged a older 17' Whaler with a 200 Yamaha carb motor for a friend and it run 68 mph on gps. This was spinning my 24 drag wheel at 5800....there are quite a few 17's around here with V6 motors and they are all 5-9 mph slower than this one. Moral of the story is that a Whaler needs a darn good setup to go fast and be easy to drive at the same time. Keep us updated on your project cause these are rather interesting to me.
Bumping up an old thread - - - All the recent talk about small performance outboards seems like it could benefit from this...
Guestimate Im 180-200hp given the current performance.

I restored a 1969 Glastron 143 and the only motor I had was a 235 Evinrude. Haaaa It barely floated. It would roll on its side if you punched it from idle as well as almost flip over backwards. Didn't keep that motor on very long. Got a picture somewhere. This is what a stocker looked like.

My dad had a skeeter wrangler(17') with a 2.4 225 when it was new, was a scary ride as a kid.
Had one like that! Bigtwin on an eight foot minimax or minimost, not sure which, but the deeper of the two - took four guy's to launch it. Two to hold up the stern, one to hold the starter battery and jumper cables ( in waist deep water), and the fool driving it. Heck of a time getting it to turn, but crazy fun even sliding going sideways (no turn fin).
