Facts about Evinrude/Johnson racing outboards made my OMC

Its Renato Molinari's brother Georgio standing in the water (white hat) holding Renato's #18 Martini boat.
He was on Pole Position and I was third after Johnny Sanders.

So Renato did race in the USA V8 F1 series. It must have been only a couple of years?

1983 event pit area was in a grass and tree area park. 1985 pit area was moved across the river to a paved parking lot that was closer to the hotels and did not require having to use the bridge to get to the pits. As I said before, hotter than hell.

Great experience but................very very dangerous! Even at 25-30 ft from the dock we could feel the air pulse concussions on the dock as the boats went by.
