Mr know-it-all,
8 to 10 new batteries tech's ideas have already been developed in the lab,
But going from the lab to full-scale production takes years because that's a new issue; mass production.
has so many challenges. Everything must be created from scratch, you can't just order said machines to start production,
every single thing has to be designed to produce mega amounts at a reasonable price,
Elon Musk has said Production can be 1,000 times harder than engineering.
Easier Said than Done:rolleyes:
Common sense tells me to follow what the leaders in sales and reliability are doing. Then offer something additional to gain market share from them "this is called competition" and we as consumers are always the prize winner when normal open markets are in play. Toyota and Honda are building hybrids like crazy, they are outselling everyone as well, they have very low emission ratings for their production line (HELLO....) they have been kicking our ass for the past 12 years, if you can't beat them, join them....The government does not build cars and they surely should not break or support the companies that do.
Joe
Toyota just came out with a $10,000 truck that we will not see in the U.S.......No air bags, no anti lock brakes, no excessive electronics, probably doesn't meet our impact standards, or emissions = no import. Reminds me of the EPA forced emission standards on everything 2 stroke, right down to a chainsaw, or weed wacker. Excessive government looking for job security, they get involved in everything. Which ends up costing everyone.

SAE to standardize Tesla NACS charging connector
as auto manufacturers move to this connector standard, they will be able to use Tesla charging stations

Powerabout, my solar panels drop in production in the evening and during rain/snow. I should've gone with Tesla PowerWall batteries to help during those times.

IF your Tesla does not charge in super cold temps (-30C) , follow what this person has done ..
1. your battery needs to be at least 20% charged and has been pre-conditioned before using a Supercharger
2. if #1 above is not achievable , then go to a level-2 charger to pre-condition and charge to >20% charge
3. return to a Supercharger to complete your vehicle's charging

Sure but in ozzie they have just worked out if you have an ev you can only charge at public charger as you live in an apt.
EV's do remove city pollution but cost more to buy and drive than gas at the moment.
Not to mention insurance costs that are about to skyrocket and there will be many regulations where an EV can go whilst they have batteries in them.
I think the water shed will be the UK Luton airport fire resolution, Insurance will wake up then.
Maybe the Japs knew something we all overlooked...Ev's good, batteries bad
They are protecting us from ourselves. Just look at the idiots still touting how great these golf carts are.
I was a kid working at a Kawasaki shop when the 1973 Z1 900's came out. I saw that there was a raised boss on the right rear side that said "KICK STARTER" on it. Now if you don't know where the kick starter is on a motorcycle ... you deff didn't need to buy one of those bikes.
Again, what "problem" are you pretending to solve with these EV's?
We have plenty of oil & natural gas. The "climate" isn't changing any more that it has throughout history.
The air is breathable & the water is drinkable.
Aluminum (and iron) engines are durable & recyclable.
2.5 million EV's registered in the US... no change in the climate hoax?
North Carolina city spent millions on electric buses that don't run.
Three out of 5 electric buses the city of Asheville bought in 2018 are sitting idle.

What the EV solved .. was it gave a small part of society a place to fit in.

I'll bet you cant find any temperature data that has not been homgenised...gee i wonder why.
Already had that scandal in ozzie.
A privately owned thermometer ( where 3 generations recorded) showed no change in temp for 80 yrs and the gov had the data.
Gov told the dept to shred it, scientists took it home so we all found out.
