I became aware in the early 1970's that Renato Molinari (boat 165) would be one of the first guys just sitting in his cockpit. Waiting for the race to begin.
In retrospect I think he was pre-visualizing what to do in the race. Prepping himself for the race.

This poster was addressed to Ed Karelsen with a signature by Bob Wartinger. SeaWay also has another copy of this poster signed by Wartinger to Glen Breitsprecher who made the tooling and formed the bubble canopy. It was made from heat formed plexiiglass not Lexan. A very limited number of these posters were printed. The artwork image of the boat at speed was used because there were no still photos taken that were good quality for usage in the poster.

This is a great video from the OMC F1-V8 race in Minneapolis 1985. (First year for the 6 inch mid section/fuel injection)
I did not take many laps for the leader Gene to lap the fastest Merc boat. (Steve de Souza)
Enjoy.

That hull is busy with stringers. Did Scotti use 1/8 plywood for the decks?
Is Sea-Way Marine the source for parts for old out of production outboard parts? I saw a couple of propeller exhaust tubes on one of the shelves. I would have liked to have been able to purchase those things back in the day. I spent many hours making one for my best propeller without knowing if it would work.
