Honestly, the problem lies in the fact that its just plain an unbalanced package... The real solution would be a bigger boat. That just never was going to happen though, in those days.Quote:

Interesting piece of trivia. In the '70's OMC was the largest captive die caster in the world. The melted, alloyed and cast up to 300,000 pounds of aluminum every day; 7 days a week. In addition steel, iron and stainless was cast in the permanent mold foundry in Milwaukee. OMC was almost totally integrated. They made all the outboard parts except nut & blots, wire, magnets, rubber parts and lubricants.
