Yea I tried going up last week but something was up with my water pump and I wasn't getting psi had to bring it back down. I put a new pump in and it was back to normal at idle in a tank so I will try going up again. What's the most you guys think I can go without the cheat or boat mounted pickup? I'm at 1 4/8" above centerline now that's putting a long level on the pad levelling the boat, estimating center of the bullet with a mark levelling the engine trim then measuring up from the level that's on the pad to the mark on the gearcase

Look down the inverted Vee from the front of the boat with the motor at neutral trim and raise it until you just barley see the water pick ups on the bottom of your case. That is as high as you can go without mods.

Have you ever been 120 in a hyundai?

The propshaft height on my STV Euro/300XS was 1 7/8" above the pad when I got the boat, and the ECU had no "low water pressure" codes triggered when we put the DDT on it. I raised it to 2" above the pad, but haven't run the boat yet at that new setting. Like Joe recommended, I sighted it from the front, and can just see the bottom of the pickups below the running surface. I've run several 3.0/3.2 cases at 2.0" above the bottom on larger boats without water pressure problems........

Dave driefort ran 138 but did you just say 225x? :D Maybe it was 15yrs ago haha

No I did not , but Dave has logged more time than anyone I know of north of 130 in a STV. He is by far the set up man that I know for just about any High Performance single outboard boat. He was running one of his Good 2.5's in warm conditions the other day to 138. With the Cool weather he will easily crank north of 140. Maybe he will chime in and embellish a little more.

Thats fast enough big boy. I don't think anyone could run a five mile stretch of that river and remain within sight of you. Its bad ass but I don't want to loose anymore friends-JMO.
