Thanks Fuji—- guess I’ll never be a David BAILEY—— I’m tending to just use the iPhone for taking pictures these days.
Bought myself a Leica—— should have learned how to use it—-but I didn’t, So the pictures don’t seem to get any better.
Anyway I’m far too busy fernagleing to worry about photography—- maybe when I’m older?
Anyone out there know the exact dates of the November Old Farts get together in Tavares?
Been looking at flights to Orlando—— depressive reading—- May have to rent out the workshop to raise the air fare !
belt sander finally turned up its toes——- had a halfway decent motor under the bench—- been all day working on fernagling a linisher that will last more than 2 years——- this modern day chinky machinery is meant to die after 12 months, we’ll all my stuff has a very limited life——- except the prewar devices my father gave me!
I have a very old “top oiler” South Bend lathe I bought many years ago—- it’s beginning to show its age—— it’s developed a fair amount of “WAGGLYMENT” and really does need updating.
Jackie, the November Tavares event is 15th -> 17th
[QUOTE=RogerH;3149529]Jackie, the November Tavares event is 15th -> 17thTavares November 15/17th. 2019 Vintage Regatta and “OLD FARTS” meeting!
Thanks Roger—— will definitely be there this year.
Been asked several times by interested parties if I knew the dates of Key West and Tavares—- it seems nobody knows what’s happening with Key West——- talked to Gary earlier this week, was told all the balls were up in the air !
Mark usually supports the event—- he’s had a stall at the offshore village for the last ten years, I’ve been there with him a few times and like the event. No telling who you’ll bump into down there.
Just hope they don’t do the event the same weekend as Tavares.
...39th Annual Key West Offshore World Championship - Sunday November 3rd thru Sunday November 10th, 2019...More details coming...
Thats a picture taken by Terry Knowles of a meeting at Chasewater in 1971 It’s the nearly 16’ Molinari Sprint with a 1350 “SILO”
Chris Hodges on the Starboard side —— Me in the Gentex Portside !
DUCHESS OF YORK GOLD CUP. which I won that day——— Chase commodore asked me to have it valued——- Took it to WAKEFIELDS jewellers in Horsham
was told it was worth £30,000 ——— in 1971 that would have bought you three semi detached houses!
key west—— Sunday 3rd November——-Sunday 10th November 2019.
Tavares Vintage Fall meeting including the OFF MEETING—— 15th/17th November 2019.
Not all the old farts read the “Tricks “ thread—- but a fair proportion of them do
Might be a good idea to get the dates printed in a separate thread.

Needed a puller today, I have a whole drawer of stuff I haven’t used in over twenty five years——- wonder if the modern generation would have a clue as to what they were used for?
