Great pictures Lars we can live vicariously with you through your vacation God bless amberjack
Arm strength Didn’t you notice all those Evinrude mechanics in the background. Janet Lee might be your age but Jamie Lee Curtis might be My age. It’s just great seeing all the old pictures. I remember one year when we were vacationing up in Winterhaven Florida and Evinrude was doing a photo shoot for their upcoming year advertisements must’ve been 1957 or 58 I can’t remember. Lotta women in bathing suits.
Nice.

Zebra are you forgetting what it was like when we were Young. Any pretty girl/woman in a bathing suit would never have to pull start an outboard engine. Every young guy would like to have the privilege of talking, assisting and pull start the engine for a woman that looked like Janet Leigh.

Miss Leigh, may I pilot your craft, and show you the most scenic places on the waterfront, and the safest places to swim.

Judging by the confident grip she has on that tiller, "Miss Leigh" has had much experience in controlling objects of power whether they be vintage outboards or perceived in nature by the controllee (one being controlled for you Bubbas out there) and therefore would forego your benevolent but most likely immoral generosity! :D

The last 40 years Bo is in to horse racing and he loves his friends with four legs.
Spending a few days at his horse ranch in Tived, Sweden..
Great dinner and tons of Swedish craw-fish..!!
Another racing buddy Goran Borg showed up for the party.
Thanks Bo..

Hi guys! I found this video last night on YouTube. In 1983 Johnson / Evinrude was running in Thunderboat (unlimited hydroplane), and they were mopping up pretty good All Things Considered. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_NPeYk9tdcQAttachment 509186

DRAMATIC NEW STYLING LEADS THE 1956 EVINRUDE & JOHNSON LINEUPS
The highlight of this year was the introduction of what some would say were the most beautiful OMC outboards to date - the new 30 hp Evinrude Lark and Johnson Javelin. (Both engines had been boosted from the previous 25hp models.) Notably, this would also mark one of the rare occasions when Evinrude contract designer Brooks Stevens would style both the Evinrude & Johnson outboards.
Now fully-integrated with one another –While the 30hp Lark & Javelin were new for 1956, they traced their roots back to 1951 when, at the direction of OMC Chairman, Stephen Briggs, the standardization between Johnson & Evinrude products began with OMC’s first common motor, a then new twin-cylinder 25hp outboard. Though styling differed, the Johnson 25 & Evinrude 25 were basically the same outboard and most of their parts were interchangeable. Johnson produced all the die-cast aluminum parts in Waukegan, as well as gears and screw machine parts. Evinrude made the crankshafts, driveshafts, propshafts and connecting rods in Milwaukee while Gale manufactured the magnetos, carburetors and fuel tanks in Galesburg, Illinois.
Sales Soar - Both divisions would post remarkable sales figures in 1956 – Evinrude sold 153,105 motors and Johnson sold 166,475 motors. In August of that year, the name of the corporation would be shortened from the Outboard Marine and Manufacturing Company to – Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC).
