Hi Rich,
John sent me a picture of him standing next to the boat, said it was in Sept 66. That's when Skip set his 117 mph record. He was probably helping him with the engines and the fuel mix. I just spent 30 minutes looking for the picture but cant find it. Skip told me he had help, but I didn't know John back then, and still have never met him. But I would like too. He is very talented.

I seem to have drawn a blank. Who is this driving the twin Glastron Moly?

That is a pre 1970 picture. The boat number is T74. I believe class id numbers stopped after 69.
"74" or "174' sounds like Pruett---but I don't remember Don in a 'glass' Moli----I think it is Joe Fielder---or Reggie???
I believe it is Joe
Hey Gene - I think you hit the nail on the head. I found two articles below (see the links) which talk about Joe demolishing his 21 foot Glastron Molinari at the 1970 World Outboard Championship at Lake Havasu. That has got to be him. Thanks:thumbsup:

That's Little Joe Fielder in Austin, Tx. 1970.
i was in the Needles hospital with Joe----- was still in touch with him until 3/4 years ago. He got there destroying his glass Glastron Moly in havasu in 1970.
Joe did well with that Glass Moly---until that BAD day at Havasu--
Parker 9 Hour, March, 1970 he was sixth overall, first in class (Black Motor Class)

Back about 2009 I was looking a listing for a PowerCat 17h in Kingsland, Texas that was equipped with twin Chrysler 125 force power heads with stacks. What really caught my eye is what looks like a 21' Glastron Molinari twin in the background with the number 998. Does anybody know the history of that boat?
