And a good beer as well
Roger Jenkins took Carlsberg Beer to victory in his first F1-V8 race for them 1982.
Beautiful Leon, Spain was the race location and I was there racing F3.
Renato was leading in his brand new very expensive aluminum boat but something went wrong in a hard turn and I guess the glue lost grip and the boat started to take on water. Renato was forced to beach his nice painted Martini boat.
UIM F1-V8 and F3 always raced the same weekend/place and all of the races was very nice organized. Good price money in both classes and hospitality.
A note..the Mercury boys was running UIM F2/FONDA races at other locations so Jackie and his friends was never at our races. I did not see Jackie at our races for many, many years.
Maybe in some of the UK races and I think Jackie was in Casale 1983. That's it.

F1, F2 and F3 was running at the same place and date.
The Formula 1 (Class OZ) winner was Roger Jenkins in his #9 Burgess/Carlsberg/Evinrude F1-V8
The Formula 2 (Class ON) winner was Peter Inward in his #13 2 liter Merc
The Formula 3 (Class OE) winner was Lars Strom in his #1 white Burgess/Evinrude CC
This is the way Powerboat and Waterskiing reported the result of the race.
This was also my favorite place for tunnel boat racing in the UK. (Far better than Bristol, Chasewater and London)
I raced there 4 times/years.

Roger Jenkins run really strong in his #9 Burgess/Carlsberg/Evinrude F1-V8 but lost to Renato in the main event.
Yes, I was there watching from the pit and the first US F1-V8 race was an enormous success.
More than 300,000 spectators.

Of course with V8 power. Maybe Mercury Racing need to get involved again. The 1750 HP Quad valve would be perfect.
